"My Father was a short term resident at Elgar Court before his death. He was a stubborn soul who did not want to be in residential care. However, within a few days of settling in he declared he felt safe and happy and was enjoying the wonderful care and attention that he received from all the staff, particularly his main carer. My only regret was that he could not have been persuaded to move in sooner and enjoy himself."

"Elgar Court is a beautiful home for my in-laws who have moved to the area. The care and attention has been fantastic from day one. All our family have been given a very warm welcome."

"For my first visit, I was greeted with a warm smile as though the staff knew me which was comforting. I was made to feel welcome whilst my nan was son her way to me. During my visit, Nan needed some care which the staff did with kindness and respect. It was a nice visit, in a beautiful environment and nan seems happy here."

"Elgar Court Care Home provides excellent care with amazing staff. The rooms are beautifully presented and well-kept. Management and reception staff are welcoming and always helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and our mother, who has dementia, is well cared for. I would recommend this home."

"Having not been looking forward to the respite care, because I hadn't been in a care home before, I was very pleased with all aspects of my care and attention given to me."

"From the moment Mum was taken into the home she was grateful and made to feel at home. The staff were amazing and nothing was an issue. The home is very clean, modern but with a homely feel. Would 100% recommend. Thank you all."

"Moving a parent with dementia into a care home is one of life's most difficult moments. I am so grateful for your kind, gentle and consistent support in the run up to and during the move. From management to admin staff and nursing/caring staff, you have all been wonderful - even offering me the occasional hug when I needed it most. On the day of admission, as we walked in everybody knew my father's name: it put a smile on his face and made him feel important/restored some agency. We are only just on day 3, but from what I have seen so far I have absolutely no doubt that you will all do everything you can to make each moment for my father the best that it can be. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart."

"Well cared for during two weeks respire care, with the assistance needed to recover mobility. The staff ready to help and soon became friends. The building is well designed and is already a social and welcoming community."

"My mum recently had some respite care at Elgar Court. They made myself and my mum very welcome on our first visit to have a look around. Mum had a wonderful couple of weeks' stay and thoroughly enjoyed the freshly baked cakes and activities. Thank you, Elgar Court!"

"Well, I visited my mother on the 14th of November, she had already stayed at Elgar Care home for 4 nights, instantly I was welcomed in by the staff and directed to my mum. She looked great, full of smiles and enjoying life there, participating in all the activities which they had to offer from the manager and her wonderful team. I arrived about 5.30 pm not knowing it was dinner time but I sat with my mum who already made friends with other residents. Not 1 of them had a bad word to say about the, well, hotel, it's that nice a place. The food looked excellent, and I was offered sausage, chips, gravy and a drink, lovely food. Mum showed me to her lodgings. Wow, faultless. This is by far an exceptional place, second to none. I cannot thank the manager and her wonderful team enough."

"I have been fortunate to stay at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home for several weeks whilst visiting the UK to see my daughter who lives nearby but is at work all day and has her own life to lead. I only have positive comments to make in spite of being a bit quiet and anxious to start with. I have enjoyed the bright modern decor of the building itself, the spacious bed outside areas provide a good opportunity for residents, visitors to meet informally. The staff are committed and caring. They treat the resident with respect and patient and are very cheerful and helpful."

"As a purpose-built, brand new facility, Barchester Elgar Court Care Home is fresh and clean, with comfortable, tasteful furnishings and state of the art facilities, which evidence their impressive attention to detail. Add to that the views of the Malvern Hills, and the amenities and location are unbeatable. Elgar Court is truly comparable to an upscale boutique hotel. Checking it out for a friend, I found its ambience warm and welcoming. It takes a very special person to be a caregiver, and every staff member I met was genuinely kind and friendly, and always ready to happily and unhurriedly answer questions. With the entire admission process tactfully and sympathetically administered, it’s by far the best I have seen."

"My elderly but fiercely independent parents-in-law have been struggling at home for some time, but it became obvious that this could not continue. We (and my mother-in-law) had looked at various care homes, and Elgar Court was the clear favourite. We had an assessment booked when my father-in-law deteriorated and was admitted to the hospital. We were delighted and relieved when Elgar agreed to accept mother-in-law the very next day. The staff have been so kind and patient with her, doing their utmost to support her rigid habits whilst gently persuading her into a healthier routine. She is very keen to see her husband as often as possible, and not only has Elgar provided a member of staff to accompany her on the time-consuming visits, but one of the care staff and her husband gave up their free afternoon to take her and stay with her for several hours, refusing any payment. She and we cannot praise the staff highly enough."

"Having reluctantly decided that she needed to go into a care home because of her failing eyesight, my mother came to visit Elgar Court. My sister and I had chosen this home because we were hugely impressed by the caring attitude, and commitment to a positive future for my mother, as demonstrated by the manager. My mother was given plenty of time to sit in her prospective room, and chat to members of staff, while she adjusted to the idea of living there. The welcome and kindness she received over several visits reassured her every time. Since she moved in she has been encouraged to make the room her own, and she never has anything but praise for the kindness and attention she receives from every single member of staff. As she and the home staff get to know each other, Mum is gaining confidence to ask for help when needed. She loves having access to the outside from her room, and over time we are hoping that the grounds will be developed to allow more areas to walk and sit."

"I first approached Elgar Court back in March 2023, and from the first contact, the support I received in moving my 90-year-old aunt and her partner, 91, has been excellent. Nothing has been a problem; they and I have received help and guidance with genuine concern for their future. Now they are there, they seem to have taken on a new lease of life, being able to socialise and enjoy the wonderful facilities they now have access to. Well done to the manager and all her team; you have made this a wonderful experience for them."

"My husband spent a week in your wonderful Barchester Elgar Court Care Home. He was a little reluctant to stay but the staff were so kind and understanding that he quickly settled in and enjoyed his stay. The room was comfortable and he had a great view of the Malvern Hills. The staff, without exception, were warm and friendly and totally professional. I appreciated all the care that I experienced and would definitely be very happy for my husband to stay again. Thank you."

"It feels like we have struck gold! My mother has recently moved to Barchester Elgar Court Care Home, having tried two other homes which have not suited her needs. She is the happiest I have seen her for many years! Her physical and mental health have significantly improved, enabling her to live her best life at the age of 92. We are delighted. It is a huge relief for both her and her family. Thoroughly recommend in every way. Thank you to the manager and her fabulous team!"

"From the first contact to Mother's arrival, we have been delighted with all aspects of care, reception and information given by everyone at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home. I was particularly touched by the telephone call from the home services advisor the day after Mum's arrival, checking everything was ok and Mum was happy with her room etc. The manager has been so helpful and positive. Mum likes the calm atmosphere but with plenty going on if she wants it. Everyone has helped Mum settle in."

"A very welcoming, safe and secure environment where I was happy to leave my mum for a two-week respite stay. All the staff I encountered were friendly and helpful and the atmosphere calm and relaxed. My mum found the meals good but would have liked more readily available fruit and more vegetables with her meal. I can only comment on the cakes which were far too readily available but delicious! There seemed to be a lot of advertised activities, although they were sometimes cancelled or altered last minute - I hope this improves for future visits. Overall, great!"

"I stayed at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home for a week to help me recuperate after a hip replacement. I found the staff very approachable, kind and very professional and would give them more than five stars if I could! This applies across the board, with high standards being obvious from admin, activities, housekeeping, catering and not least, carers. Whilst my care needs were modest compared to other residents, any help I needed was readily available with a chat and smile thrown in for good measure. My birthday fell during my stay and I was treated to a birthday cake and prosecco to make the day a bit more special than it might have been. Thank you to all who made me welcome and helped during my short stay."

"Both the day and nightcare teams were very good. It's been a very good experience sharing time with everyone there. I liked the restaurant but would have liked to have had more vegetables and fruit available. I enjoyed some of the activities but they were often disorganised and sometimes cancelled without notice."

"From the first moment stepping through the door, I knew this was the place for Mum and Dad. All of the staff, the rooms, the facilities, food and drink are excellent. We were all made to feel instantly welcome. The whole process of getting them settled here has been thorough but not overly burdensome. Mum has been here for a few days and her alertness has improved - and she is happy. I couldn't ask for more."

"Elgar Court is a wonderful care home. The building is brand new and excellent but the best feature of the home is the staff. They are truly caring and always take the extra time to sit and talk to the residents, forming real bonds. Everyone is uniformly wonderful. A lovely place."

"Initially two-week respite turned into four-week respite, returning home, hopefully, short-term to then return permanently as much better quality of life. Barchester Elgar Court Care Home offers everything for a much better lifestyle and security and well-being. Staff are highly trained and professional. Home is well-managed and well-led, beautiful gardens and wonderful reception area. Always a lovely welcome!"

"Not having much idea on how to choose the right home for our mum, my brother and I thought it would be a rather daunting task. But with the expertise and detailed and friendly guidance from the staff, it turned out to be a pleasant experience and it became obvious to us that this was going to be Mum's new home. Mum settled in straightaway with the help of the friendly staff and other residents. She is enjoying the food and the activities and she has told us that she feels safe which means the world to us."

"My husband had a two-week respite break at Barchester Elgar Court Care Home. He enjoyed his stay and I, his wife and carer, had a break too. He was well looked after, enjoyed food and slept well. He also joined in some activities. I was made to feel welcome along with any visitors."

"What a wonderful caring place. My mum in law was adamant that she would not go into a care home. At 98 the family decided the time had come and we brought her on a 5 hour trip to Elgar Court. She had a terrible journey and we arrived after 19.30, but all the staff were absolutely wonderful, she was looked after very well. The 'care for her started as she came through the doors'. A staff member had stayed on to do an assessment, the caring staff took on her care, we were all offered a great meal, and we left her well fed and comfortable in bed. After 8 days at Elgar Court, she says it a marvellous place, and indeed it is, costly but certainly value for money. Great care and life enrichment. Thank you every one of you"
