Activities at Fordmill Care Home
We understand that the people we support have passions and interests that could be difficult to pursue after moving into a care home – but that doesn’t mean we don’t encourage them to try! Some hobbies can define a person, so our Activities Coordinators are dedicated to ensuring that everyone we support is able to do what makes them happy to the best of their abilities. Social events are organised with individual tastes in mind and with the idea that residents have the opportunity to try new and exciting things.
Julia Constandache
I’m Julia and I have been working at Fordmill since December 2016. I really enjoy art and studied Graphic Design & Illustration in Dundee. I love being with people and using my skills to improve their quality of life and bring a smile to their faces through crafts, games and all sorts of other activities.
I plan out the activities, either for groups or individuals, according to specific needs and interests. It’s a real joy to get to know residents and their loved ones and I’m grateful to Barchester for giving me the opportunity to work with them and bring some sunshine into the residents’ lives.

Life at Fordmill Care Home
A Royal Garden Retreat
To celebrate the Queens 90th birthday, Fordmill held a Garden Party. This was also the ideal opportunity for Chef, David, to demonstrate his skills as part of the Chef Awards.
The rain didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits as there were about 200 visitors on the day who all enjoyed some Highland dancing, musical entertainment and a wonderful hot & cold buffet with cream scones.
Football Memories
Residents visited Links Park recently, the ground that Montrose Football Club play at, for a Football Memories session. Everyone had a great time!
Carers Week at Fordmill
Carers at Fordmill were happy to receive their cards and biscuits in celebration of Carers Week.
Wear a Wig to Work Day
It was 'Wear a Wig to Work Day' for Clic Sargent and Fordmill raised £30 for the charity. It was a fun and rewarding day for everyone involved!
International Nurses' Day at Fordmill
To say thank you for the incredible work that our nurses do at Fordmill, we gifted them with some special travel mugs for International Nurses' Day.
Football Memories by Links Park Community Trust
This is a resident speaking to a local player about some of the best footballers of their eras. We are planning to take a few of the men down to Links Park to see Montrose's football pitch and go around the changing rooms.
