Activities at Four Hills Care Home
Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.
We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.
The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home
Homes join 100th virtual event
Barchester care homes and hospitals nationwide linked together for a fantastic quiz in celebration of Barchester’s 100th live virtual event.
Residents engaged in a variety of questions ranging from historical trivia to visual puzzles and brainteasers.
For those joining everyone had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
Charity Cook Off
Staff and residents are celebrating because their wonderful Managing Director, Fiona Fagan, from Barchester’s North East and Scotland Division, has stepped completely out of her comfort zone to compete in the Barchester Charitable Foundation Cook Off 2024.
Fiona went head-to-head with the Managing Directors from Barchester’s four other divisions and cooked up a storm to raise a phenomenal £24,595 for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation which helps connect vulnerable people and those living with a disability to community groups in their local area by providing grants to improve mobility and quality of life. Each year the Foundation distributes thousands of pounds to individuals, small community groups and charities across England, Scotland and Wales.
Exploring the Eden Project
Residents across our homes had a fantastic time exploring the Eden Project virtually - an educational charity and visitor attraction based in Cornwall, featuring sprawling outdoor gardens and breathtaking biomes that house the largest indoor rainforest in the world.
During the session, residents who joined were reconnected with nature through their senses, memories and stories. A big thank you to the community team at the Eden Project for the wonderful event.
Intergenerational fun
Residents of Four Hills have been delighted to welcome the children from High Park Primary every Friday morning for arts & crafts sessions, every week we have been working on different projects from card making to decorating candle holders and making flower pom poms from wool, the residents have loved getting to know the children, their hobbies and interest and sharing stories about their lives and their favourite subjects at school, there has been lots of fun and laughter and we are really looking forward to our future projects with them after their summer holidays.
Residents take to the water
The residents of Four Hills were off on another adventure this time we were treated to a tour of our local canal thanks to our friends at the Seagull Trust, we were especially delighted to get up close to the family of swans living on the banks of the water, we even saw a few paddle boarders on the water which was a great delight, we enjoyed a lovely picnic on board prepared by our wonderful chef containing all our favourite snacks.
Bill was always a keen traveller who had not been on a boat for a long time and thought this was something he would never be able to do again, so it was great to see all the smiles on his face on the day as he shared some stories with the boats captain and crew about some of the places he had visited, Bill said it was one of his best days for a long time.
High top thrills at the circus
What a fabulous evening in the sunshine the residents of Four Hills had attending the world famous Zippos Circus, residents were mesmerised by the performances of acrobats, tumblers, tight rope walkers and trapeze artists, we laughed so hard and even had to hide our eyes at some points with all the wonderful stunts.
It truly was a remarkable show. After the show we all enjoyed a wonderful fish tea together as we chatted about our favourite parts of the show. Since being back the ladies have been sharing their adventure with other residents who are now also keen to visit.
