Activities at Four Hills Care Home
Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.
We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.
The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Life at Four Hills Care Home
Century celebrations
Celebrations have been in full swing at Four Hills, as one of its residents reaches her centenary in style. Janet was joined by staff, relatives, friends and other residents as she received a telegram from the King in recognition of her landmark birthday. Everyone enjoyed a delicious special cake from our head chef Paul.
Janet has been a resident here since January 2018, before coming to Four Hills, where she is enjoying a new chapter of her life. The birthday girl, said she had a wonderful day being visited by all the staff wishing her the best, along with lots of family visits and presents, lovely bouquets of flowers. She said the best part of turning 100 was all the cake she has been eating for days.
A Trip to the Pantomime
What a wonderful night the residents of Fourhills had along with 20 ladies from our weekly ladies group that we go to we all went together to the Pavilion theatre in Glasgow to see the Pantomime ‘Treasure Island’ , we reminisced about taking other children and grandchildren when they were younger, we all laughed the night away. Jane even danced in the aisles and commented it was the best night she has had in years.
The Puppet Gang Scotland
After lots of great festive activities over December this was one of our resident’s favourite’s, we were treated to a great show of puppets and bubbles from the guys at The Puppet Gang Scotland. We had a wonderful afternoon full of laughter, they do say that’s the best medicine, we had special visits from Elvis and Dolly Parton, residents loved seeing the tricks that Pinocchio could do, The bubble show was mesmerising with staff and residents both taking part in the show.
Big Quiz of the Year
All over the country our care homes and hospitals linked up for Barchester’s Big Quiz of the year!
Residents tested their knowledge with a variety of questions, from historical humdingers and musical musings to pictorial puzzlers and connective conundrums.
Everyone who participated had a fantastic time and enjoyed some friendly competition.
Nursery children meet Santa
After weeks of our own Christmas parties it was the turn of the children from Benview Nursery school who visit the home regularly as part of our intergenerational links. We enjoy our visits to the nursery too!
We welcomed the children back after the Christmas break and we had a wonderful morning playing traditional party games together, enjoying lots of sweet treats, before a visit from our very own Santa Claus (one of our residents Billy - who really looks forward to doing this every year for the kids) he said it’s fantastic to see the smiles on their faces and the excitement in their eyes.
Meeting the Reindeers
Across our homes we got into the Christmas spirit of things by joining a festive live virtual experience, led by Des and Kelly from Performing Pets.
Our residents were thrilled to meet the charming furry friends and get up close and personal with the reindeers.
We certainly learnt some interesting facts about the animals and had a fantastic time.
