Activities at Four Hills Care Home

Our activity and lifestyle programme is arranged for all our residents to participate in and is updated regularly based on ideas from our residents group during our resident forum. Our Resident of the Day strategy ensures each person receives at least one day each month where the focus is all about them.

We have a monthly concert and to date this is appreciated and enjoyed by most residents. The Four Hills Taverns is open for business every Friday afternoon and is an area where residents and staff socialise, hold pub quizzes and partake in a little refreshment.

The team at Four Hills try hard to meet everyone's needs and encourage all residents and their families to join in the fun.

Easter Preparations

Easter preparations are in full swing at Four Hills as we started decorating our Easter Bonnets and make Easter cards ready for our Easter bonnet parade.

An Easter bonnet is any new or fancy hat worn by tradition as a Christian headcovering on Easter. It represents the tail end of A tradition of wearing new clothes at Easter, in harmony with the renewal of the year and the promise of spiritual renewal and redemption.

Virtual event with the Wallace Collection

We had a lovely time joining Holly and Marie-Therese from the Wallace Collection, for a virtual introduction to the Collection, followed by a sensory exploratory walk through one of the museum’s most famous landscape paintings.

The Collection ranges from Old Master paintings to 18th century French furniture, arms and armour.

We all had a wonderful time and cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and paint some landscapes in the upcoming days.

World Health Day

We dedicated our day to promote the benefits of good health and wellbeing in recognition of World Health Day.

Our residents got involved in sensory and relaxing activities and fun-filled games, specially designed to improve and stimulate their physical health, as well as, mental wellbeing.

During the day, they explored a number of nutritious recipes including some delicious fruit salads and smoothies.

We also took time to thank all team members at the home and also to acknowledge all hardworking healthcare professionals.

Visit to the Botanic Gardens

We had great afternoon visiting Botanic Gardens as we enjoy this lovely weather.

The ladies loved being sat by the pond watching all the beautiful fish and really enjoyed seeing all the exotic plants. We rounded off the afternoon with tea and cakes as we watched the world go by.

,

Musical Afternoons

We had a great afternoon with a bit of musical therapy and is always an activity the residents really enjoy.

It promotes positive well being and always puts a smile on their faces.

,

Mothering Sunday

Our home was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers and bunting in recognition of Mother’s Day and all the mothers in our home.

During the day our residents got creative and made their own flower bouquets and flower frames, as they enjoyed a variety of yummy sweet and savoury treats.

In the afternoon we enjoyed an afternoon tea followed by a reminiscing session of Mother's Day when their children were young.

The ladies loved their cakes and being made a fuss of.
