Meet the Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home Team

Sarah Morgan

General Manager

Hi, my name is Sarah, and I am the General Manager here at Hafan-Y-Coed. Welcome to our website!

I am a registered nurse with a wealth of knowledge and experience within the nursing/care home sector. I have worked at Hafan-Y-Coed for over 10 years, starting as a carer.

I then pursued a nursing degree and worked as a nurse on our dementia community, before becoming a Unit Manager. I assumed the post of Deputy Manager in 2019 and I was promoted to General Manager in 2021.

Michael O'Reilly

Responsible Individual (RI)

Michael O Reilly joined Barchester Healthcare in April 2017 and is the Responsible Individual (RI) for all of our Welsh services. As RI, Michael visits all Welsh services at least every three months and works closely with the home management team and regulators to ensure that the highest quality of care is offered. Michael is very proud to be part of the team.

Michael holds the position as General Counsel and Director of Quality, Risk and Compliance as well as the Company Secretary for Barchester.

Hello I’m Liz, I am one of the senior nurses at Hafan-Y-Coed. 

Busi Zuma

Registered General Nurse

Hello, I’m Busi and I am part of the nursing team on nights. 

I have worked at Hafan-Y-Coed since 2004.

I am passionate about working with our residents to ensure the best quality of life and care at all times. Ensuring all of our residents are happy and content is everything to me.  

Vicky Muntean

Senior Nurse

Hello I am Vicky and I am the Senior Nurse on the General nursing community at Hafan-Y-Coed.

Vicky started nursing in Romania in 1994. Vicky started working at Hafan-Y-Coed in 2002 and remained with us until 2015. She then worked in Sancta Maria Hospital in Swansea for a short period where she wanted to develop her nursing skills and returned to Hafan-Y-Coed in 2021. English is my 4th language.

Tasha Pitson

Care Assistant

Hi, my name is Natasha and I have worked here at Hafan-Y-Coed since 2022. 

Previously, I worked in retail. I have always been keen to join the care industry, so when the opportunity to join the team at Hafan-Y-Coed arose I jumped at it. 

I have my QCF level 3 in health and social care and am always looking for opportunities to grow my knowledge. The best part about working at Hafan-Y-Coed is getting to know all the residents and their families who enable me to carry out person centred care. 

Being the buddy champion also allows me to support my colleagues and promote wellbeing.

Kayleigh Rees

Registered Mental Health Nurse

Hello, I’m Kayleigh and I am the dementia lead specialist nurse on our Ty Lliw community at Hafan-Y-Coed.

I started here in 2017 as a care assistant and became passionate about providing high-quality person-centred care to residents living with dementia. 

My ambition was to become a registered mental health nurse and I qualified in February 2024.

Vicky James

Team Leader

My name is Vicky, I have worked in Hafan-Y-Coed since 2005 and I’ve worked my way up to a Team Leader, I am also very proud to say I am one of the Dementia Champions at Hafan-Y-Coed. I have a lot of experience and knowledge from working with residents living with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and I love to share this knowledge to help others.

Katie Sheppard

Administrator

Katie joined as the Hafan-Y-Coed administration assistant working on reception, but has recently been promoted to become the home's administrator.  Katie will often be the first point of contact with the home with her friendly voice on the phone.

Marie Spires

Activities Coordinator

I'm Marie, the lead activities coordinator for Hafan Y Coed. I have been the activities coordinator for nearly three years and am passionate about encouraging the wellbeing of our residents. Ensuring all abilities are catered for in a bespoke schedule is paramount to their individual wellbeing needs. I am joined by Clare and Sue who also help to create a life enrichment program suitable for all communities.

Suzanna Jenkins

Activity Coordinator

My name is Sue, I am one of the Activities coordinators here at Hafan-Y-Coed. I have worked here since 2014. I have a real passion for Activities and get a great deal of pleasure in enriching the resident’s lives through meaningful activities. I love getting to know the residents and their families, and every day is very different and rewarding.

Nicola Kearney

Head of Housekeeping

Hello I am Nicola the head of housekeeping. I joined Hafan-Y-Coed in 2002 and I really enjoying working with my team to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness all around the home.  It is a delight to chat to residents as we clean and deliver their laundry.  

Chloe King

Admin Assistant

Hello I am Chloe and I am the administrative assistant at Hafan-Y-Coed, working in the admin office with Katie. I started with Barchester in 2017. I also have an Activities background. I love meeting new residents and families and I enjoy working in the care environment. I am very proud of the success of Hafan-Y-Coed and the excellent reputation it holds within the local community.

Senior Carer

My name is Katie and I am a Senior Carer in Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home and also a Dementia Champion. I have worked here since 2021. I love my job as I get to be a part of the resident’s lives, making a difference to their day is rewarding and I am very great full to be a part of it.

Jonathan James

Care Assistant

Hello, my name is Jonathan. I am a Care Assistant at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home, I have worked here since 2020. I love working with the residents, the best part about my job is spending quality time with them, and joining in with activities and making them laugh.

Clare Hanford

Activities Assistant

Hello I am Clare and I am on the activities team. I have worked in Hafan-Y-Coed since 2015, I also have a background of care.

I work following Barchester's Life Enrichment Programme which looks at meeting the residents' needs and enhancing their wellbeing in mind, body and soul.

Marie Jones

Laundry Assistant

Hello, I’m Marie and I have worked in the laundry department since 2021.

I love working in the home as I enjoy chatting with the residents as I deliver their laundry.

My name is Ryan, I work in the laundry department. I have been working in Hafan-Y-Coed since 2019. I enjoy my job as I love to make a difference in the resident’s lives. Making them laugh and smile on a daily basis makes the job really rewarding.
