"The team here are fantastic, always friendly and happy when we come to visit. My grandmother is happy and well cared for. There is always something going on when we came entertaining for the residents. Myself and my family are very happy with Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home. nothing is ever too much trouble for them and it feels like one big family."

"Everybody is so kind, helpful and caring. Nothing is too much trouble. Mum has dementia and is included in all activities, Her room is spotless. Mum is well looked after and settled in quickly and is very happy."

"My mother has dementia and has now been at Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for over four years. I am very pleased how well she has settled there and how happy she is in her surroundings. The home is comfortable and the staff have been great and will go out of their way to see to her needs and to keep her happy. I feel I have good contact with the care staff and with management, which is essential. In conclusion, I am very happy with my choice of care home and with the service provided and most importantly, I know my mother is too."

"My mum has been at Hafan-Y-Coed for nearly three years and I am very happy with her care. All the staff work extremely hard and are always upbeat and helpful. They are very considerate of my mum's needs. Even though they have had a very tough time through COVID, they have soldiered on and buoyed up the residents. The only points that they could improve on is updating the resident's rooms and being more inspiring with the daily food menu. On the whole, I believe my mum is being very well cared for at Hafan-Y-Coed."

"My partner has been in Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for four months. Everyone has gone out of their way to make him feel at home. He says he particularly enjoys all his meals - he has even commented 'this hotel has excellent food!' This care home is very well run with dedicated staff. All the imaginative activities (both in and out the home) are extremely well organised with all residents participating. My partner's health has improved since being in Hafan-Y-Coed and he even has the opportunity of using his Welsh - something that is important for him. He's also enjoyed visiting the wetlands."

"The care that my dad has received has exceeded our expectations completely. We are so impressed with the care and positive attitude of the staff. The food is excellent! The activities ongoing for the residents are fantastic and help to stimulate his mind."

"I was upset that my dad had to go into a home because of his Dementia and falls. However, he has settled really well and I have no worries about his care at all. The staff are amazing, so caring and extremely hardworking. The activity team are always arranging different events and there is always something going on. We couldn't be happier and I would have no hesitation about recommending Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home to anyone."

"We had a wonderful afternoon with mum in the general lounge. The activities team led this afternoon were excellent. The singing brought mum and the residents to life. Mum was singing along with all the old welsh songs. Well done everyone."

"Thank you for the very warm welcome my relative received when he began his stay at Hafan Y Coed Care Home. Deciding upon a care home was one of the hardest and most difficult decisions I have ever had to make. The staff treat residents (and visitors) with dignity and respect and endeavour to include everyone in activities regardless of their ability. They try and find the appropriate level of focus and adapt to suit individuals. The staff rotas are consistent so there is familiarity in each community. So important to ensure residents are fully supported and are provided with continuity of care, daily living support and an element of kind familiarity. They work tirelessly in a very often challenging environment. The nursing staff have been attentive and kept me informed when they have identified potential health issues. Management is visible, very approachable and innovative."

"My mother needed extra care, and we needed to place her in a care home. This was a very difficult and emotional decision to make. A place was available in Hafan y Coed. I am so happy we chose to accept it. The home is immaculate. Feels very homely. It was suggested I took some personal belongings for Mam's room before she arrived. It looked so welcoming and familiar on arrival. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. Nothing is too much trouble. The activities are amazing, and we can actually see an improvement in Mam since she has been there. My son visited today and was absolutely delighted to see his gran doing so well. Diolch pawb!"

Every member of staff goes above and beyond to ensure the residents get the quality of care they deserve. The residents are treated with dignity and respect and are treated as individuals. "Every time I visit, staff members are always positive, encouraging and extremely approachable. Health issues are always identified and communicated well with the family. The entertainment staff always find ways to get my bampa to engage despite being immobile. They make every effort to involve him and make him smile. He always has options when it comes to food and the nurses are always on top of his weight management. As a family, we love Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home."

"Having worked as a nurse in the past I have very high standards of care so I cannot fault any aspect of mum's care. All the staff treat her with care and dignity and more so with love. They aren't just doing a job, they treat all the residents like they are treating their own families. The activities programme is second to none and the fact they put it on social media, I look forward to seeing what they have been up to. All staff from housekeeping to maintenance are friendly and caring. Well done and thank you."

"All staff go above and beyond in every way to make my mother in laws life normal, comfortable and enjoyable. The food is top quality and the cleanliness is very good. The care she receives is excellent. She is treated with dignity at all times and enjoys the activities, the activities are very good. Although the care home is very expensive, in my opinion, it is the best in the area and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone."

"Staff are always warm and welcoming. Staff are always happy to help accommodate Dad. Management are approachable, and problems that have arisen have been dealt with. Activity coordinators are fantastic and happy to help. Staff enabled us to bring Dad home for Christmas Eve which was wonderful for the family."

"I can only say that you are excellent, staff from the manager to all the other support staff, carers, cooks and nurses that help run Hafan-Y-Coed. I had always heard excellent reports from previous families who had stayed at the home. My father has recently arrived at Hafan-Y-Coed and I feel he has become part of the family, the events team are excellent with the interaction they have with everyone. Well done to all the staff."

"Very positive atmosphere with activities as well as a good interaction between staff and residents. The staff seem to know the residents as individuals and respond well to their different personalities and requirements. Everyone is very patient and committed to caring for each resident."

"I am so glad my grandfather is very happy and settled in this nursing home. I am happy he has made new friends here and the staff are good with him. He loved the football in the stadium and he loved the theatre and I love seeing the photos and my grandfather is having the right care and support."

"I am overwhelmed by how wonderful Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home is. Such a family unit. My father has settled so well and absolutely loves the care and being spoilt by all the staff. I cannot wait to join in the activities with the very friendly and fun team. I cannot fault the care staff and everyone involved in caring for the residents, you can see how wonderful the staff are with all the residents and that makes the residents so happy."

"My mum had been a resident for 5 years. She passed on the 1st of May. The staff were amazing. They loved my mum like she was their mum. The love and respect they gave her was amazing. In the 24 hours leading up to losing her, they were so loving and compassionate. They couldn’t do enough for us. They didn’t just make my mum as comfortable as she could be but they made this awful experience a little easier for her family. I was a mess and the numbness was debilitating. The honour walk lineup they did for my mum as she was being taken away was the most amazing act of kindness, love, respect and compassion I have ever witnessed and something I will never forget. They weren’t just carers/nurses they were part of the family. They really did love her. I can’t thank the manager and the team enough, especially the ones who were by our side for the 28 hours. You know who you are, I will never forget that. Thank you so very much."

"After a long period in hospital, my husband's condition had deteriorated so much I was in despair. Since his move to Hafan-Y-Coed I can't believe the improvement. Lovely surroundings, good quality food, lots of stimulation from an amazing entertainment team. I feel part of a warm friendly family who give amazing care to my husband and cannot speak highly enough of the amazing staff for their compassion and care for each and every resident. I am so grateful to have found a vacancy at this lovely home."

"I like the staff I met when I visited my mum from Singapore in April. They appreciated how close we were and how much we enjoyed each other's company. When I left, there was a promise to set up weekly video calls. Sadly, that never happened. It is very disappointing to repeatedly send links, wait around for 30-45 minutes then give up. Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home have not offered reasons why and emails go unanswered. It is a shame that they are over-promised or are unwilling/unable to go the extra mile."

"This is my first experience of needing a placement in a care home for my father. The staff could not have made a better impression! So warm and welcoming. Every effort has been made to make Dad feel at home and relaxed. Each time we visit, we are welcomed like family members. "My mum has been a resident at Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for fifteen months. The support my mother, myself and rest of the family have received is priceless. My mum's needs have been challenging at times and difficult for myself, as an only daughter, to manoeuvre but the team at Hafan-Y-Coed at all levels has been phenomenal. From the manager, office, reception and every single one of the activities team, without forgetting one member of staff, in particular, and all the carers, who show immense patience and great advice, during one of the most difficult periods in my life, I feel that the team at Hafan-Y-Coed are my 'comfort blanket'. The facilities are terrific and the effort that is put in at all levels by all the staff to provide the very best in activities to keep residents, like my mum, focussed, as well as some imaginative trips out, is quite literally unbelievable. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart."
