"My mum has been a resident at Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for fifteen months. The support my mother, myself and rest of the family have received is priceless. My mum's needs have been challenging at times and difficult for myself, as an only daughter, to manoeuvre but the team at Hafan-Y-Coed at all levels has been phenomenal. From the manager, office, reception and every single one of the activities team, without forgetting one member of staff, in particular, and all the carers, who show immense patience and great advice, during one of the most difficult periods in my life, I feel that the team at Hafan-Y-Coed are my 'comfort blanket'. The facilities are terrific and the effort that is put in at all levels by all the staff to provide the very best in activities to keep residents, like my mum, focussed, as well as some imaginative trips out, is quite literally unbelievable. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart."

"Our family cannot praise Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home, Llanelli enough. My mum is virtually incapacitated except for one arm due to a stroke. She also has dementia. All the care staff are wonderfully caring, thoughtful and jolly. The nursing team are excellent and thorough. My mum was recently admitted to hospital for a short time and her nurse from Hafan-Y-Coed constantly liaised with staff at the hospital. The entertainment team are fabulous and is constantly coming up with fun and interesting activities. The meals are varied and excellent. We are very grateful that my mum is in such a fantastic home. Thank you."

"I like the staff I met when I visited my mum from Singapore in April. They appreciated how close we were and how much we enjoyed each other's company. When I left, there was a promise to set up weekly video calls. Sadly, that never happened. It is very disappointing to repeatedly send links, wait around for 30-45 minutes then give up. Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home have not offered reasons why and emails go unanswered. It is a shame that they are over-promised or are unwilling/unable to go the extra mile."

"The staff at Barchester Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home are amazing. They are the most caring and lovely people. So much effort goes into the activities - it's always wonderful to see the residents enjoying themselves. Mum has been a resident for just over a year. "After a very bad experience in a previous home, we moved on a recommendation to Hafan-Y-Coed. In the short time he has been there he has put on weight and although he is prone to falling there are always carers at hand to help. The staff are very helpful and friendly."

"My mother-in-law was a resident of Hafan-Y-Coed Care Home for three and a half years after it became impossible for her to live independently and when the family were no longer able to manage her complex nursing needs. Hafan-Y-Coed became her home, and she was cared for with love, and infinite patience over the years; the staff became not only her friends but ours as well. The nursing care was excellent, and the day-to-day care was fantastic. The activity team worked non-stop to entertain and engage the residents, and the building and grounds were clean and inviting. The food was good, and the kitchen staff were never too busy to provide her with her favourite egg sandwich at any awkward time of the day! Hafan-Y-Coed was a big part of our lives over that time, and we miss all the staff and residents who became our "extended family" for that time. Thank you so much for everything you did for her and for us."

"Our mum moved to Hafan-y-Coed as her dementia had reached the stage where her current home was unable to give her the care and support she needed. Immediately on arriving in Hafan-y-Coed we could see a difference in her care. The love, attention and kindness all staff showed her was overwhelming. The staff to patient ratio was much higher. She had very challenging behaviour, but nothing was an issue for them. The staff gave us utmost respect when Mum died. They couldn't have been kinder or more helpful at a very painful time."

"Even though we are still in a pandemic, I cannot thank the team enough for the level of care they are providing to my mother. We are lucky enough to receive regular Facetime calls and updates which puts our mind at ease that Mum is doing well. The management team is priceless and is a credit to your company and their enthusiasm, love and passion is always wonderful to see and it reflects within the remainder of the team. We have loved receiving updates of all the activities the residents have enjoyed during this time and continue to do so. Until we meet again I know my mother is in safe hands and is being loved and cared for like I would wish. We cannot thank the management team and staff enough for all they have done and continue to do. Until we see you again, thank you for everything."

"Our dad has been a resident for over 2-years now, and although he has no speech due to his vascular dementia, he is the happiest we've seen him! He loves all the staff; there's always a high five for the nurses and carers. We would have no hesitation in recommending this place to anyone at all. The staff are always kind and polite, and nothing is too much trouble for them. They are all true angels!"

"My nan was a resident at the home, the staff went above and beyond with her. I will never be able to repay them, for what they did. The activities were amazing. And even though my nan was on a puree diet, they always catered to her needs. The support we had as a family was 5*. The care, dignity, and compassion the staff showed was amazing. This home is simply the best!"

"My dad was moved to Hafen-Y-Coed during covid 19 lockdown and the staff were so helpful and reassured us on my dads care. Since living in Pemberton Unit my dad has resumed walking after being immobile since Oct'19. The lady in the office has been so helpful and the nursing/caring staff on dads unit have been amazing. As a family we cannot thank you enough for the care you have given dad and us, we are very grateful."

"I found that losing my husband to dementia a very traumatic time and then having to find a nursing home that would suit all of his needs almost was unbearable, and then there was Hafan-Y-Coed! What a lifesaver! All the staff are so caring and happy in their work, always so helpful; they can't do enough for you and our relatives. He has settled in quite quickly with everyone. I always feel so relaxed when I visit and come away not feeling anxious. Keep up the happy bibes you radiate."

"My mother has been in Hafan y Coed care home since March and I am very happy to see my mother so content. The staff professionally manage those living with dementia with care and sensitivity. The staff from the Managers to the caring staff are very welcoming and friendly. The staff are demonstrably affectionate to my mother, she is not just a resident they really know her. The feedback you get from the nursing staff is first class. As a family we are so happy my mother is in this home and getting such fantastic care."

"Mu husband who has dementia has been treated very kindly and patiently by the staff on Pemberton Ward. They have also been very kind and thoughtful to me as his wife and designated visitor. The management staff are always there for you to answer any queries you may have and they are dealt with efficiently. They all do a wonderful job."

"Mam was put into Hafan-y-Coed for respite due to Dad being taken ill. I can not praise the help and support given to me by the staff and management from the minute mam arrived. I was totally taken by surprise by how much they did for me. It is a beautifully clean welcoming care home where every member of staff is happy to help you. There is a lot of activity there for residents, visiting and contact with a loved one is made very easy. Very well run care home I would highly recommend it."

"The staff are attentive and so caring towards my mum and all the other residents. Nothing is too much trouble. The entertainment staff keep the spirits up for the residents and families alike! "My grandmother has been in Hafan-Y-Coed for roughly 5 -months now. She has settled in well and loves the staff. She often mentions how much is going on in the home and how friendly it is. She has made friends with not only other residents but staff too. She has been on many trips and loves the concerts. Thank you for welcoming her to your home. She is very happy and content."
