Activities at Henford House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in, as well as visits from PAT dogs, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our cheese & wine nights, pub evening, quiz nights and special occasions such as, Guy Fawkes, Easter and Christmas where we like to encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Henford House is fun and active.
Debbie Phillips
I joined Henford House in March 2014; after five and a half years of domiciliary care, this position became available at Henford and I decided that it would be great to do more of the fun things in life with residents! It is great here at the home; we get along so well and truly have some laughs. Residents have a wide range of activities to participate in each week, including armchair exercises, bingo sessions, singalongs, musical entertainment, pottery, manicures, celebrations and much more. It is very rewarding knowing that people are grateful for the work I've done when I go. Working here has also given me the opportunity to gain my Level 2 NAPA certificate.

Life at Henford House Care Home
Mothers Day with love
What a wonderful day celebrating Mothers day. It started with flower arranging so everyone in the home had a beautiful display. Followed by a special lunch, prepared and served by the chef finished of with a pamper and a glass of fizz.
Special Mothers Day Delivery
Residents and Staff gave a big heart felt Thank you to their kind and generous friends down at Waitrose. Two members of their team arrived at the door with flowers and goodies a plenty. There was enough for everyone and it really put a smile on everyone's face this Mothers Day.
Celebrating Martisor
Residents at Henford House really enjoy learning about different cultures and traditions. This year they learnt about Martisor from one of their staff members. It celebrates the beginning of spring, and is traditionally celebrated in Romania. We made the ribbons that are given to the women of the town and we took them to our town too.
National Story Telling Week
Our Residents really enjoy reading a book together. This week we have been reading The House of slamming Doors. It was written by a local author. Everyone has really enjoyed not just the story but also the conversations it has sparked too. We are thinking of our next book already.
Felix turns 97 years old
Muriel was given Felix the cat on her 2nd birthday as a present from her much loved Godmother. He has travelled through time with Muriel sharing children, house moves and grandchildren too. He has always been pride of place somewhere on a shelf in one of her homes. Now he is pride of place in her walking aid and still comes everywhere with her.
Let it snow
With grounds as stunning as ours, they turn into a winter wonderland when the snow falls. Residents sat cosy by the fire and watched as the snow fell, while eating biscuits and drinking tea. The perfect morning.
