Activities at Hilderstone Hall Care Home

Our activities team are, first and foremost, devoted to each and every resident in the home, and strive to ensure that their interests, hobbies, capabilities and individual requests are met to the highest standard. This could include one-to-one chats, hand massages, reading, music therapy, flower arranging, movement to music, arts & crafts, gardening and baking. We also have regular fun, adventurous and stimulating trips, where we encourage families and loved ones to join us. We have close links with the Alzheimer's Society, the local primary school, and Trinity Skills who come to sing with residents. All the staff at Hilderstone Hall participate in activities with residents, offering encouragement, stimulation and interaction for everyone involved, providing the most fulfilling experience possible.

Hannah Perry

Activities Lead

Hi I’m Hannah and I am the Activities Lead. I have two children and love spending time on my allotment growing fruit and veg. I joined the team at Hilderstone Hall in October 2023 and have become a valued member of the team. I enjoy working with the residents and getting to know them, as well as making sure they take part in various activities such as singing, crafts, baking and much more! I have over 9 years experience within the care industry and worked previously as an Activities Co-Ordinator before coming to Hilderstone.

Britt Sings!

Songstress Britt returned to present a great musical show for us all

We loved the playlist consisting of a wide variety of familiar tunes which we enjoyed so much, especially with her emotive and powerful voice

Pancake Day

We would like to say a big Thank You to Linda Downward – Territorial Envoy & Carol from The Salvation Army, Stafford for presenting a wonderful Shrove Tuesday Service for us all today

Pancake Day, or Shrove Tuesday, is the traditional feast day before the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday. Lent is the 40 days leading up to Easter and was traditionally a time of fasting.

Delicious Pancakes with lemon and sugar are plentiful on the menu today

Wordle Challenge

Residents particularly enjoyed an afternoon session of Wordle with Activities Coordinator Sam.

Our beautiful bistro is a great environment for our residents to sit in, relax and enjoy a variety of indoor activities.

In any one of the communal indoor spaces we happily welcome entertainers and organise specially selected activities, sessions and games.

105th Birthday

Her Majesty the Queen has sent a Congratulatory message to Daisy who celebrated her 105th Birthday!

Daisy's day was one long party with visiting family members, a decorated room of balloons, bunting and banners with plenty of party food!  Daisy's all time favourite, a chocolate sponge was the nature of the special birthday cake!

An Audience with Johnny Victory

We gave a warm welcome to Johnny Victory, actor and entertainer specialising in period music from the 1920s – 1960s along with many other genres of music.

Residents enjoyed a high energy show of song and dance in the afternoon accompanied by tea and biscuits.

Smiles filled the room and a brilliant time was had by all, we all look forward to “An Audience with Johnny” again!

Virtual coffee experience

We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience.

We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.

To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.
