Activities at Kingfisher Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
George Tantrum
Hi, I am George and I am the Activities Lead here at Kingfisher Lodge. I have worked in healthcare for over 6 years and I have a passion for enriching the lives of the people in our home. We offer a wide variety of life enrichment activities within our home, from minibus trips and group outings all the way to spending some one on one time with our residents. If you pop into the home, the chances is you’ll find me, so come say hello!

Easter Celebrations
Easter started on Good Friday when we had an Easter quiz and everyone had warm hot-cross buns. Saturday was Easter nest making and decorating Easter bonnets. Sunday was a visit from Barchie Bear, who was giving out Easter eggs to all our residents and a wonderful Easter lunch and buffet for tea. On Monday, they all enjoyed more hot cross buns, Easter cakes, a tea party in the garden and Easter visits and videos calls from families.
Monthly Charity Donations
Kingfisher Lodge has been donating to a different Charity each month from the start of 2021.
In the month of March, we held a raffle for Comic Relief, then all the staff and residents wore funny hats to raise money for brain tumour research.

World Book Day
We love to read here at Kingfisher Lodge and today we got dressed up for the occasion too. We read short stories of Roald Dahl and reminisced about childhoods gone by.
