Activities at Kingsland House Care Home
Kingsland House have a variety of activities that our residents help us choose. Celebrating Life in our home is jovial and fun and from our weekly delivered activity sheet, our residents can chose exactly what they want to join in with.
Our activities range from exercise classes, gardening, arts and crafts, games to food-fun clubs. We also offer our in house church services, our own home cinema, our mobile pub - The Kingsland Tavern, visiting Pat Dogs, musical entertainers, minibus outings, theme days and birthday celebrations. For those residents being nursed in their rooms we have one to one activities sessions.
At Kingsland House we believe that activities are hugely important to stimulate and uplift, and getting to know our residents interests and lifestyle choices assist our activities team in creating events and activities to suit their expressed wishes and capabilities. We also encourage our residents' families and friends to join in with as much as they can to make Kingsland House a loving family atmosphere.
Mo Clark
I've been at Kingsland House as the Activities Coordinator since April 2024 having previously worked in a similar role since 2020.
My previous experience has been in working as a carer and air bnb host, corporate finance and project management for many years. This is my most rewarding role to date and I am passionate about working with the elderly.
I love the variety of each day, getting to know and share in the lives of our residents. The commitment and support of Barchester enables us to deliver activities and outings that go above and beyond to support and celebrate life which makes the difference to our residents wellbeing and happiness.

Puzzle Time
We love nothing more than a games afternoon at Kingsland House and today we enjoyed the challenge of a 100 piece puzzle!
Our resident Andrea was up for the challenge along with Shirley and Vera.
Sussex Prairie Gardens
We love a day out and change of scenery at Kingsland House and today we took our mini bus to Sussex Prairie Gardens were they were hosting an Indian summer bazaar.
We browsed through the exotic market tents, enjoyed our picnic in the glorious gardens and said hello to the animals too.
Everyone enjoyed the day and we ended it with coffee and cakes in their cafe just in time to head back to relax and get ready for our evening meal.
Rosie the Pony
We were delighted to be joined by Rosie the pony today at Kingsland House where residents, friends, family and staff alike enjoyed patting and feeding Rosie.
The whole experience was fabulous and one never to be forgotten, Rosie was such a cutie and we cannot wait for her to pop back again for a visit!
Thank you Rosie we loved every minute of your visit.
Pioneer Pollinators Visit
Recently we enjoyed a hugely informative visit from the volunteer bee conservationists from Pioneer Pollinators, who were thrilled with the new hive we'd painted over the past month! We're looking forward to them sending us photos of it "in situ" with the bees taking up residence!
We tasted their delicious local honey and learnt all about their amazing endeavours locally and all about the magical workings of honey bee colonies. Thank you so much Lisa and Francoise we had a wonderful afternoon.
Get Moving Week
We're having a wild week at Kingsland House, we got moving and put the ‘fun’ into ‘fundraising’ with amazing activities, sponsored walks and exercise classes to raise money for Barchester’s Charitable Foundation. The residents enjoyed being extra active we logged a staggering 4100 "move minutes" from our slow yoga, our musical move and wiggle session, walks in the garden to water tubs, and fill bird feeders, balloon tennis, skittles and a wonderful afternoon stroll on the prom and pier in the sunshine with a rewarding ice cream with a flake!
Out and About in the Sunshine
We have been loving the good weather in June and visited Shoreham Harbour in the minibus, we enjoyed coffee, cake & ice cream from The Port Kitchen overlooking the locks and then took in the sea air and sunshine as we watched the lock-gates opening to let a little cruiser through.
