Activities at Kingsland House Care Home
Kingsland House have a variety of activities that our residents help us choose. Celebrating Life in our home is jovial and fun and from our weekly delivered activity sheet, our residents can chose exactly what they want to join in with.
Our activities range from exercise classes, gardening, arts and crafts, games to food-fun clubs. We also offer our in house church services, our own home cinema, our mobile pub - The Kingsland Tavern, visiting Pat Dogs, musical entertainers, minibus outings, theme days and birthday celebrations. For those residents being nursed in their rooms we have one to one activities sessions.
At Kingsland House we believe that activities are hugely important to stimulate and uplift, and getting to know our residents interests and lifestyle choices assist our activities team in creating events and activities to suit their expressed wishes and capabilities. We also encourage our residents' families and friends to join in with as much as they can to make Kingsland House a loving family atmosphere.
Mo Clark
I've been at Kingsland House as the Activities Coordinator since April 2024 having previously worked in a similar role since 2020.
My previous experience has been in working as a carer and air bnb host, corporate finance and project management for many years. This is my most rewarding role to date and I am passionate about working with the elderly.
I love the variety of each day, getting to know and share in the lives of our residents. The commitment and support of Barchester enables us to deliver activities and outings that go above and beyond to support and celebrate life which makes the difference to our residents wellbeing and happiness.

A Love Song written and performed for a resident’s memories of her life in Shoreham with her husband
We were thrilled to be involved with a wonderful project called ‘Songs For Shoreham’ where 20 songs were written and performed about life and history in Shoreham. One of these songs was about our residents life and love story with her husband spanning over 60 years. On the actual day of the production our resident attended the show along with her daughters and they all agreed it is a memory they will all treasure forever.
Delighted to present our local Arts Centre with a cheque from Barchester’s Charitable Foundation
We were delighted to visit our local Ropetackle Arts Centre recently to present them with a cheque from The Barchester Charitable Foundation to sponsor the next five ‘Relaxed Viewings’ including today’s Chicago which we thoroughly enjoyed after a light lunch
Celebrating Life as we grant the wish of three loyal football supporters
We took a trip to their beloved football stadium to meet other loyal supporters and spend time reminiscing.
We even met some old players, one who played for England!
New Exercise Company has us all competing and laughing while getting fit at the same time
What fun we had as we exercised to hockey, tennis & football and while competing against each other. We even had time to take in a quiz at the same time
Afternoon Tea Party for a Birthday Celebration
We had a lovely morning making our own cucumber & cream cheese sandwiches for an Afternoon Tea Party that was laid on to celebrate one of our lovely residents’ 98th birthday.
A Wonderful week with Health and Social Care Students
Thanks again to Shoreham Academy for a wonderful week with us, we particularly enjoyed today’s session which was all about popcorn, making it, eating it and designing jewellery with it!
We look forward to seeing these stories on our website in the near future
