Activities at Lethen Park Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Amanda McCarthy
We all know that keeping active is important. We have created a wonderful culture within the home and we work together to give residents the best possible experience. We are here to ensure that residents enjoy an environment that is both stimulating and socially active. We ensure the team knows each residents' preferences, so that we can deliver a person-centered program of events and activities. Essential to our homely feel is the strong relationships of trust we build with residents and their families and friends

Life at Lethen Park Care Home
Royal Botanic Garden
Our homes enjoyed a wonderful virtual tour of the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh with Community Engagement Manager, Charlotte Walker, and Botanic Cottage Operations Co-ordinator, Laura Gallagher.
The residents were thrilled to learn more about the history of the beautiful Garden, which is now a home to an impressive plant collection from around the world.
Charlotte and Laura also gave a demonstration of making fresh herbal tea and were happy to answer our questions. The virtual experience was truly enjoyed by all who joined.
Knit and natter
“Knit and natter” sessions have been a regular activity at Lethen Park. Many of the people living in the home – old and new – look forward to the chance to chat patterns, learn new skills and share their talents, as well as just having a general catchup.
Doing the Conga!
We are always exploring new ways to entertain our residents, this week everyone had a lot of fun as we danced our way around the home doing the Conga as part of Oomph on demands live interactive sessions. It’s a fun activity that is great for physical health but also promotes good mental wellbeing as Residents can socialise with a group and have a bit of fun.
Amanda, Activities Coordinator said: “It’s great to see our Residents joining in and having fun.”
