Activities at Lindum House Care Home
Our fantastic Activities Coordinators make sure that there is a full programme of social events to suit all interests and capabilities. They aim to not only to stimulate, but to ensure that everyone involved has lots of fun. We enjoy trips out visiting local places of interest or just to explore, which inevitably ends up with us having a lovely lunch somewhere.
There are regular concerts that we hold in the home that allows us to have a good old singalong, and our community links include the local churches, knit and natter groups and toddler groups coming in to see residents.
On a daily basis, everyone enjoys a variety of activities, including quizzes, bingo, arts and crafts, reminiscing and movement to music. We also host movie afternoons on the big screen which, of course, involves popcorn and ice cream at the interval!
Any residents who are unable to join us in the communal areas for activities have one-to-one time in their rooms, with us either reading to them, chatting or anything else they wish to do that’s within their capabilities.
Kelly Rolph
Hi there, I'm Kelly. My role at Lindum House ensures all of our residents always have lots of fun activities to look forward too.
I grew up down south, my parents worked in news trade & I've lived in many places! I've lived in hull for 20 years now, worked in health and social care for around 15 years, I started on care, worked through domestic, kitchen assistant and found my calling with activities!
I'm a super social person, enjoy being busy and sing in my spare time. I am part of a small singing charity group 'guise & gals'. I've been singing karaoke since I was 18 but never had the confidence to take it any further. I do, however, love putting on a show for our residents!
I'm a strong believer in 'treat people how you wish to be treated' everyone is different and it's important to focus on each individuals wants and needs, to encourage and nurture life, you only live once!
I'm full of energy, providing there is music... it's good for my soul!
Our residents smiles are my reward, it makes me so happy to see them enjoying them selves.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Lindum House Care Home
Green Fingers Club
We like to take advantage of our beautiful grounds and our 'Green Fingers Club' does just that! Our residents who are interested in gardening are free to join our 'Green Fingers Club' where they undertake all aspects of gardening like planting, weeding and pruning.
Bob, our head of maintenance, built us some new raised planters to give us even more planting space!
Trip to the park
Lots of Residents have made the most of the lovely sunny weather with various trips to the park.
Many even enjoying a flashback to their youth by having a turn on the swings and roundabout.
Lots of happy memories were shared of previous trips to other parks - as children themselves and then with their own children and Grandchildren.
Birthday Celebrations!
Our residents celebrated Hilary's birthday.
Hilary got a cake which she enjoyed at tea-time and had a lovely surprise lunch out with her family.
Hilary was collected, in her new dress, to be taken to a restaurant where 16 members of her family were waiting to surprise her! What a day!
Caribbean Carnival
Our residents enjoyed our own-style Caribbean Carnival, to be in line with the Notting Hill Carnival this weekend.
We waved our flags, made colourful pom-poms and listened to Reggae - we also tried some Jamaican snacks. We had such a wonderful day!
Love is in the air as couple celebrate 70 years!
A couple from Lindum House care home, in Beverley have celebrated 70 years of marriage. Sheila and John Bridger met through, Sylvia, a friend of John’s. Sylvia was showing John some pictures of a recent beach trip she had been on with her friends and when John noticed Sheila he said “I am going to marry that girl” it was love at first sight. As a thank you for the introduction Sylvia was given the honour of bridesmaid on the big day.
Sheila handmade her own wedding dress all those years ago as well as all of her bridesmaid’s dresses on nights after work.
World Photography Day
Our residents had an amazing time celebrating 'World Photography Day'. They had fun using vintage cameras and reminiscing on when and where they used to use them. Some of our residents laughed about how they used to finish a film and have to take it to the chemist to wait a week for them to be developed where as now technology is so much quicker and easier!
Steph our activities co-ordinator accompanied our residents outside where they enjoyed taking photos of our gardens, flower beds and each other.
