Activities at Lynde House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.
Gitana Norvaisiene
Gitana Norvaisiene is our Life Enrichment Coordinator. She oversees and organises all social activities within the home. Although Gitana only recently took up the Coordinators role she was previously a carer at Lynde House. Within her first year she was honoured with being shortlisted at the National Barchester Awards in the category of Activities Coordinator of the year and also won with her team of residents and local school pupils the Barchester In Bloom best Flower display

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Christmas Lunch
Residents and staff enjoyed a lovely Christmas afternoon at the Marriott Hotel Twickenham Station. Thank you for your hospitality!
Christmas Visit from Good Gym Richmond
Lynde House welcomed the Good Gym Richmond again at the home to help us start the Christmas decorating. The kind team built up the 7 Christmas trees we have in the home. As always, we had a lovely evening. Many thanks to the Good Gym for their continued support to our home.
Visit from Local Girl Guides
Our Local Girl Guide Group from St. Marys visited Lynde House this week to entertain our residents and families with some festive singing. Everyone had a lovely time.
St Paul's Cathedral
Residents and staff had a lovely trip to St Paul'sm Cathedral to celebrate the Festival of St Cecilia. A hearty lunch followed at one of our favourite haunts in Teddington.
Nurse of the Year
Congratulations to Ridel Franciso, who was named as the Registered Nurse of the Year at the 2018 Barchester Care Awards.
All the nominees demonstrated outstanding abilities as nurses and a genuine desire to improve the lives of the individuals they care for.
Well done, Ridel!
Award Time
Lynde House celebrated staff achievements during our International Day on Friday 31st August. Entertainment for residents was provided by staff and it was very enjoyable.
