Activities at Lynde House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators get a real buzz off their work here as enthusiasm is essential for the role. We decorate and celebrate for all the big annual events, Valentine's Day, Easter, Mothering Sunday and much more. There are also regular fixtures in our activities programme, including bingo, a sherry morning and quizzes, that are always well-attended. There's also an International Day that we hold to celebrate the wonderful ethnic diversity of our staff, where members of our team and their families give up their time to showcase their national costumes, dances and songs. Of course, we also have activities and services tailored to those residents who prefer the quiet life, such manicures or simply a friendly chat and a cup of tea. We always do our best to learn about residents' hobbies and interests and try to arrange our activities programme around their individual likes and dislikes.
Gitana Norvaisiene
Gitana Norvaisiene is our Life Enrichment Coordinator. She oversees and organises all social activities within the home. Although Gitana only recently took up the Coordinators role she was previously a carer at Lynde House. Within her first year she was honoured with being shortlisted at the National Barchester Awards in the category of Activities Coordinator of the year and also won with her team of residents and local school pupils the Barchester In Bloom best Flower display

Life at Lynde House Care Home
Appy Hour
Staff at Lynde House took advantage of our newly created Appy Hour, which gives them the opportunity to download the Barchester App to get news about the latest staff benefits, plus much more. The session is also an excuse to try some new and inventive fruit cocktails!
Tai Chi & Yoga
Lynde House launched its new Tai Chi and yoga programme recently, which was well-attended by residents. This programme will be extended to involve staff as part of our approach to well-being at the home.
Kew Gardens
Some residents from Lynde House visited Kew Botanical Gardens to see the now famous Hive and some spectacular water plants.
NVQ Celebrations
Both Alam and Fareeha achieved their NVQ Level 3 and Level 2, respectively. Well done to them!
Lynde House's Garden Party
On Saturday 23rd July, the sun shone bright, and the BBQ sizzled, as did the music, because everyone at Lynde House enjoyed a great afternoon of rock & roll with live entertainment. Elvis dropped by and shared a few laughs with the General Manager and Victoria, the Financial Administrator, whilst James Dean and Junior parked the Harley for all to see. Everyone had a ball!
Lynde House's Divisional Winner
Congratulations to Emma Li, who has been named as a Divisional Winner for Registered Nurse of the Year at this year's Barchester Care Awards.
