Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Sarah Yarney
I have worked with the elderly for more than forty years in various roles, gaining varied knowledge and experience. I have been a relative at Marnel Lodge for ten years and worked as an admin assistant for a year and a half. I have now taken on the exciting role of Activities Coordinator at Marnel Lodge and I am looking forward to working with the residents, families and the Marnel team to start some new activities and adventures.

Life at Marnel Lodge Care Home
The Harvesters
Head Chef, Chris, has been harvesting our garden vegetables with the help of residents and carers. They have been having lots of fun!
Inside Picnic
Our Memory Lane communities were due to go on a picnic, but the heavens opened up, so we all decided that we would hold our picnic downstairs. We had dancing and party games and lovely food. Family members joined us too.
Summer Fête
Marnel Lodge had a wonderful Summer Fête! Sangeeta opened it this year and donated her fee to Harefield Hospital. John, who used to be a patient there, accepted it on behalf of the hospital. He also lived at Marnel Lodge whilst waiting for his transplant, but is now well and living in his own flat.
Residents, staff and friends dressed up as pirates and there were lots of fun events and activities going on throughout the day. It may have rained, but you can never stop folks at Marnel Lodge from having fun!
A Teddy Bear's Picnic
Daisy Chain came to visit us all for a teddy bear's picnic. We all had fun with the 'hook-a-teddy bear' game and residents enjoyed watching them. Afterwards, we all had an ice cream and played more games.
Celebrating Hard Work
The support team at Marnel Lodge had a lovely day enjoying their cupcakes that they received in recognition of all the hard work they do.
Heart & Soul Award - May
Subarna Garbuja won May's Heart & Soul award here at Marnel Lodge for always having a smile on her face, even when it's raining outside.
