Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Fruity Fun
On Friday 20th July, we held our monthly Fruity Friday event. This involved staff and residents dressing in bright clothes, with some smoothie making and the afternoon and a fruit-themed quiz.
Wimbledon Afternoon
On Friday 13th July, we held a special afternoon to celebrate Wimbledon. There was plenty of strawberries and cream, along with traditional Pimm's and an afternoon of word games!
National Ice Cream Day
On Thursday 19th July, we celebrated National Ice Cream day with a selection of ice creams, which were served to everyone in the afternoon!
Eyes Down!
Marriott House and Lodge continues to hold monthly community bingo sessions. This month's session took place on Wednesday 25th July 2018
Everyone is welcome to join us for this event. There are prizes to be won and refreshments will be served during the afternoon.
Painting with Watercolours
We have been visiting Parklands School once a week and one of the activities we did was painting with watercolours, so we decided to share this activity with other residents. Everyone’s masterpiece now has pride of place in their own room.
New for 2018
We now have a beautiful vegetable plot, which the residents are able to access easily. We are currently growing tomatoes, runner beans, cucumbers, courgettes and carrots.
