Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
A Royal Open Day
We opened our doors to the local community for an afternoon of celebrations that were themed around the Royal Wedding on the 19th May. Guests were able to enjoy musical entertainment, royal teas & cakes, and had the chance to meet the team and look around the home.
More Alive Than Ever
Folks at Marriott House and Lodge were delighted to have the wonderful Alive Activities in on 18th April. Their 'Variety Hour' sessions include music, poetry, dance and movement. They provide a non-obvious approach to exercise (seated or unseated), using current affairs, literature and iPads to engage people and stimulate memories, discussions and fun. Because of their person-centred and user-led approach, each and every session is unique, varied and full of character. There’s something for everyone!
Employee of the Month - April
Staff, residents and visitors nominated Elaine for our April Employee of the Month award for a variety of reasons, including her friendly and helpful approach, her dedication to her role, the ability to work well within a team and her caring attitude!
The Magic of Music
Music for Health workshops are fun, stimulating and extremely varied, providing something for everyone. The music changes from workshop to workshop, keeping the event fresh. Residents are encouraged to participate from the start and progress at their own speed.

Easter Cake Competition
We always love to be part of a competition. This year, there were two categories for the Easter Cake Competition: the chef category and the resident category. The residents designed and made their own cake with the help of Elaine and Betty, our Activities Coordinators.
