Activities at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Marriott House and Lodge Care Home
Community Bingo
Marriott House and Lodge continues to hold monthly community bingo sessions. Our most recent one took place on Wednesday 28th February.
Everyone is welcome to join us for this event. There are prizes to be won and refreshments will be served during the afternoon.
St David's Day
On 1st March, we celebrated St David’s Day by decorating the home and enjoying a themed quiz afternoon, whilst indulging in some Welsh cakes.
Goodbye & Good Luck!
After almost 20 years of continuous service at Marriott House &Lodge, much-loved Hairdresser, Linda Thwaites, has decided to retire!
Staff and residents at the home sent Linda off with a bouquet of flowers. Everyone at the home has very fond memories of Linda and she will be sadly missed.
During her time at the home Linda has helped all the residents' hairdressing needs. Nothing has ever been too much trouble for her!
Valentine's Day
In the lead up to Valentine's Day, the residents helped the activities team to decorate the home with lots of love hearts.
On Wednesday 14th February, we started our day of activities with a Valentines' Day bingo session. The afternoon started with a special Music for Health session, which included quizzes, music, singing and much more!
We then finished the day with some chocolate tasting along with afternoon tea!
Pancake Day
On Tuesday 13th February, we celebrated Pancake Day with an afternoon of making pancakes and decorating them with individuals' favorite toppings!
National Pizza Day
On Friday 9th February, we celebrated National Pizza Day by making some pizzas with many different toppings!
