Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Activities Coordinator

Hi, My name is Annmarie and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Mount Tryon Care Home. I am passionate about supporting our residents and supporting them to take part in person centered activities. It is important to me that we are encouraging our residents to do the things they enjoy and build a happy, sociable environment for them.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Mount Tryon Care Home

Baking Workshop

Given that it was National Gluten Free Day, we decided to test our gluten-free cake recipes ourselves with the assistance of willing family members. We created lemon drizzle and lemon butterfly cakes, which we all ate with afternoon tea and found to be quite delicious! We appreciate our catering team who make the majority of our meals gluten free along side special diets.

Christmas Day

Christmas at Mount Tryon has been a time of joy and togetherness, where hearts were warmed, and spirits lifted. The gentle hum of laughter from the residents, their families, and the ever-dedicated staff and volunteers came together to celebrate the magic of the season. Gifts have been exchanged, games have been played, songs have been sung, amazing food and drink has been shared by all. As the days have unfolded, the spirit of Christmas grew brighter with every shared moment. It truly has been a celebration of love, connection, and the simple beauty of being together.

Christmas Wreath Course

We all have gotten creative here at Mount Tryon Care Home and began making Christmas wreaths to hang around our home. This brought back a lot of memories of our previous Christmases, discussing childhood memories of decorating the house for Christmas and the excitement building across the month. Everyone at Mount Tryon are looking forward to all the activities we will be doing during this joyous season.

Christmas Decorations

Here at Mount Tryon while joyfully singing along to Christmas tunes, we set up our Christmas trees, lights, and other decorations, truly getting into the festive mood. We all had a great day, and we couldn't wait for our Santa to start singing to us. Our residents are now truly in the festive spirit and looking forward to enjoying a December filled with festive activities.

90th Birthday Celebrations

Happy birthday to Rosemary who celebrated her 90th birthday today and what a wonderful day she had!

Our lovely Chef, Jo, made a special cake to mark the occasion, and Rosemary went out for a beautiful lunch with her friends and family before spending the afternoon celebrating with her husband and loved ones.

Afternoon Game of Monopoly

This afternoon at Mount Tryon, we had a great time playing Monopoly and becoming real estate agents. 

It was entertaining because we all had the objective of staying financially solvent and it brought back many memories of playing the game as kids and discussing the properties on the board. 

Our game is not over as not one of us are bankrupted yet, we are all eager to continue our game in the morning!
