Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Annmarie Scourfield
Hi, My name is Annmarie and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Mount Tryon Care Home. I am passionate about supporting our residents and supporting them to take part in person centered activities. It is important to me that we are encouraging our residents to do the things they enjoy and build a happy, sociable environment for them.
Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Mount Tryon Care Home

Resident goes swimming
Our 94-year-old resident Joan had always loved swimming and went on frequent swims. She had assumed she would never get the chance to swim again, but here at Mount Tryon, we made it possible for her to swim again. After our lovely afternoon swim at the Riviera International Centre, Joan begged to go again, and we will definitely make this happen for her and the other residents who are eager to go.

Seated Yoga and National Pina Colada Day
Here at Mount Tryon, we enjoy twice monthly seated yoga sessions with Hannah from Unwind Yourself Yoga. Following today’s fantastic session we instantly felt better. Since today was National Pina Colada Day, we celebrated by ending our session with a well-earned Pina Colada Unwind Yourself Yoga

Warberry Academy School children Visit
We had two wonderful visits from students from Warberry academy here at Mount Tryon. The children did an amazing job drawing pictures of our residents, and we also had a really exciting game of parachute. After that, all the children proudly read their books.

World Hypertension Day
Because every employee at Mount Tryon is vital, our experienced nurses offered blood pressure checks to staff members as a way to raise awareness of hypertension
World Hypertension Day is a day designated and initiated by The World Hypertension League, which is itself an umbrella to organisations of 85 national hypertension societies and leagues. The day was initiated to increase the awareness of hypertension.

National Truffle Day
Here at Mount Tryon, we created our own truffles in honour of National Truffle Day.
Using a microwave recipe that worked really well, we created dark chocolate and cherry, white chocolate and strawberry, and milk chocolate and caramel. Next, we formed our truffles and covered them with pink sprinkles for our white chocolate truffles and chocolate sprinkles for our dark chocolate truffles.
After that, we packaged them so that we could donate some to the neighbourhood and later give more to the Torquay Fire Station when they come to see us on National Firefighters Day
We were very satisfied with our results.

National Firefighters Day
On this National Firefighters Day, we at Mount Tryon would want to sincerely thank all firefighters for everything that they do.
One of our residents, who worked as a firefighter for a living working his way up to a Divisional Commander, had a very special day because of our local Torquay Fire Station. He was ecstatic to see a fire engine again and to get a tour of the modern equipment on board. He even wore his own cap for the occasion and was thrilled to sit in the fire engine's cab.
The opportunity to see the fire engine and the fantastic crew of firefighters with us today thrilled the remaining residents just as much.
We presented them with our homemade truffles with pride.
