Activities at Mount Tryon Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Hi, My name is Annmarie and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Mount Tryon Care Home. Making the Good Stuff

Making the Good Stuff

Residents enjoyed getting a bit messy, cooking up a storm and creating some beautiful pizzas. With the help of our chef, they were cooked and served up as dinner for our delighted residents!

Flower Arranging

Flower Arranging

We decided to defy the autumn weather and bring a little bit of summer back into the home. Residents enjoyed arranging some beautiful flowers to use in our dining room as table decorations.

Musical Magic

Musical Magic

We were happy to be joined by Sadie, a singer and guitarist. She brought along all sorts of instruments for us to have a go at, including hand chimes and blocks. Sadie arrived just as we had some guests from a local pre-school and they were happy to join us in a singalong!

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

Macmillan Coffee Afternoon

This month, we were proud to celebrate the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. The weather held out for us and we were able to enjoy some delicious, homemade cakes and treats out in the sun. We were joined by residents, relatives and guests from the local community.

Scrabble Competition

Scrabble Competition

We were joined in some friendly word-themed competition by visitors from Lucerne House Care Home in Exeter. Residents, staff and relatives joined together to compete against our guests, although we were no match for their skills, and they won a resounding victory.

Not one to take a loss lying down, we have challenged them to a game of Countdown, and will be off to play them in a rematch in September!

Afternoon Tea

Afternoon Tea

Residents and relatives sat down to enjoy a sparkling afternoon tea in our gorgeous dining room. Residents and guests enjoyed homemade cakes and scones along with raising a glass of bubbly for the occasion! It was such as success we’ve decided to make it a regular event.
