Activities at Oak Grange Care Home

Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Hawaiian Party

Hawaiian Party

There was plenty of Malibu & pineapple, fruity cocktails and delicious refreshments to indulge in at our Hawaiian-themed party. Everyone danced and sang along to live music from Andy and Ian on the steel guitars.

Community Art Class

Community Art Class

This was our first community art class, which will now be hosted on the first Tuesday of every month here at Oak Grange for families of residents and carers in our local community that may want a few hours of creative respite.

Our first session was themed around sunflowers, and we all had a lovely morning creating some wonderful paintings.

We welcome those of all abilities, and all materials and refreshments are provided.

Alison & Diego look forward to seeing you!

Art Club

We hold monthly Art Club's at the home, with artist Diego, who is our new volunteer. During the club we explore colours and mediums, as well as different pictures to draw and paint for all abilities.

This month we made colour wheels with primary and secondary colours, and some residents chose to draw and paint their own pictures with watercolours. As you can see from the pictures, we have some very talented residents! Everyone has a great afternoon and we can't wait for next months installment.

Oak Grange Choir on tour!

This week, the Oak Grange Choir went on tour! We performed our Summer Concert at our sister home Caldy Manor. We were given a very warm welcome and treated to a delicious homemade afternoon tea.

Our choir includes residents from all communities, as well as family members and staff. We have also had the privilege of being trained by Susan Urschitz, who plays the Violin in the Leeds Ballet Orchestra. We sung a selection of all our favourite songs from the last two years and ended the performance with a 'Last night of the Proms!' Waving flags to 'Land of Hope and Glory' and 'We'll meet again.'

Thank you to everyone at Caldy Manor for such a wonderful day.
