Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Garden Centre Outings
Orchard House Care Home Announces Exciting Garden Centre Trip Outings for Residents Spring is indeed right around the corner, and Orchard House Care Home is prepared to dive into some gardening fun! Residents have already eagerly stocked up on all the essentials to ensure their gardens flourish with vibrant colours and fragrant blooms. From seeds to soil, pots to plants, Orchard House residents are ready to nurture their green spaces with love and care. To celebrate the joy of gardening and the arrival of spring, residents will be treated to delightful cappuccinos and teas after their garden centre excursions. These outings not only provide an opportunity for residents to engage in meaningful activities but also foster a sense of community and connection among everyone at Orchard House Care Home.
St David's Day
St. David's Day was celebrated at Orchard House, we began with our monthly Resident's Meeting where everyone was encouraged to have their say. Staff were praised for their attentiveness and care, further remarks were about the superb facilities and food offered, lovely compliments, thank you! Armchair exercise followed and crafting of daffodils completed our celebrations.
Karaoke and a Therapy Dog
At Orchard House Care Home, we believe in the power of music and animals to uplift spirits and bring joy to our residents' lives. We hosted a delightful "karaoke" event, where our residents harmonised to timeless classics like "Pretty Woman" and "Stand By Me". The room was filled with laughter as we sang our hearts out together. Afterward, our furry therapy dog, Chelsea, spread warmth and love with her gentle presence, providing our residents with soothing affection. Moments like these remind us of the beauty of connection and the healing power of music and animals
Exciting Valentine's Day Performance at Orchard House Care Home!
This Valentine's Day, Orchard House Care Home had the privilege of hosting the incredible tap dancer, Maurice! Maurice's dazzling dance skills mesmerised everyone, filling our home with joy and excitement.
It was an unforgettable performance that left us all in awe of his talent. Maurice's graceful movements and rhythmic beats truly brought the spirit of love and celebration to Orchard House.

Rainy Day activities
Orchard House Care Home Residents embraced the rainy weather with a day filled with engaging activities.
Despite the downpour, spirits were high as they gathered to enjoy indoor pastimes.
Auntie G, a beloved member of the Orchard House community, captivated everyone with yet another fantastic storytelling session. Her tales transported residents to different worlds, providing a delightful escape from the rain-soaked day.
To add a touch of excitement, residents also indulged in a lively round of bingo. Laughter and camaraderie filled the room as numbers were called out, creating an atmosphere of joy and entertainment.
Air Hockey
In a lighthearted and enjoyable event, members of Orchard House recently engaged in a friendly air hockey match with the talented individuals from Way Forward. The match took place at the inviting venue of Orchard House. Discovering a shared love for air hockey, both teams eagerly participated in the spirited competition, turning the casual gathering into a memorable occasion. The atmosphere was charged with friendly rivalry as everyone showcased their skills on the air hockey table. The match, designed as a warm-up, hinted at a closely contested encounter. Although no official score was kept, the excitement and camaraderie reached a crescendo, suggesting that if tallied, the result would have undoubtedly been a well-fought draw.
