Activities at Oulton Park Care Home

We have a wonderful team here at Oulton Park and we all work together to provide a stimulating, active environment for our residents that live here. We are always looking for new and innovative ideas for our residents to be part of here, and our activities coordinator works very hard on planning and providing a stimulating busy schedule of activities, as well as assisting the residents with their daily living preferences. We have regular meetings with our families and residents to make sure we are providing things to suit their preferences. We as a home are registered with the National Activity Providers Association and strive to provide a person-centred approach for our residents here.

Louise Hunter-Hall

Life Enrichment & Activities Coordinator

Hello my name is Louise, I am the life enrichment and activities coordinator at Oulton park care centre.

I joined Oulton Park late 2023 but I have worked in the care industry for over 20 years and I have a compassion for my role and work. During the 20years I have supported many different adults with different care needs including, nursing care, physical disabilities, learning disabilities, independent living and 1:1 needs. I have both my level 2&3 in care and level 2 in sign language.

At Oulton my role is to create and organise a range of engaging and meaningful activities. My role brings me a great deal of comfort and joy.

If I can just make 1 persons life better during my working day at Oulton Park then the day has been a success. I feel honoured, fortunate and blessed to do the job I do.

Rainbows, Brownies And Guides

Last week we had a wonderful visit from the children of the 3rd Oulton Rainbows, Brownies and Guides who were kind enough to perform Christmas songs and readings, whilst also dropping off dozens of Christmas cards and flowers for us!

This was wonderfully kind of all the children (and adults) involved, and our residents were truly touched. We look forward to being able to see more of you in the New Year.

Thank you and Merry Christmas!

Music And Dancing

We had fantastic fun with a live performance from one of our favourite singers this week and we danced the afternoon away.

Music is wonderful for the soul and it gets the body moving too!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

We have been decorating the tree, hanging the lights, stringing up the bells and holly, singing Christmas carols and enjoying some festive treats!

Oulton Park is looking festive and we are all getting into the Christmas spirit as we count down to the big day.

Feathered Friends Visit

We had a wonderful visit from some beautiful Barn Owls this week.

Residents and staff were delighted to meet these gorgeous creatures and learn all about them. Such unusual visitors always bring joy during their visits to our home.

Getting To Know You

Barchester's unique 'Getting to know Me' booklets and games are cleverly designed to allow staff and residents to learn about each other whilst having fun and socialising.

Through these activities our teams and residents can bond, enjoy themselves and learn about each other's lives. With this information we can dedicate activities and outings to best suit each resident and ensure that life at Oulton Park is as fun and enriched as possible.

Flower Arranging

This week we have been using the wonderful range of flowers that our talented gardener, David has been growing in the various courtyards and gardens that make up our outdoor spaces at Oulton Park.

His hard work, along with the artistic talent of our residents has allowed us to create beautiful displays inside the home. Thank you David.
