Activities at Oxford Beaumont Care Community
Our Activities Coordinators are committed to organising a mix of activities and events that cater to all tastes, which includes minibus outings to nearby places of interest and visits from animal trusts, local school choirs, musicians and entertainers. We also undertake one-to-one activities for residents who are unable to participate in group sessions, and encourage loved ones to join in whenever they can.

Hi, I'm Alice (left) and I've been working in activities since 2019. I absolutely love my role, and I'm passionate about providing meaningful and life enriching activities for all our residents. My aim is to make them smile everyday!
Hi I’m Sarah (right), I’ve been a member if the Oxford Beaumont team since January 2020. Starting as an Activities assistant on a part time basis, I enjoyed the role so much I'm now one the the full time coordinators.
It’s an absolute pleasure working here, being able to provide life enriching activities that make our residents happy and smile. We have so much fun together, and learn something new everyday from these incredible ladies and gentlemen.

Life at Oxford Beaumont Care Community
Valentine's Day
We have been busy at Oxford Beaumont Community in preparation for our Valentine’s Day, making cards for our loved ones. Residents enjoyed using a variety of materials to make their own personalised cards showing their creative skills.
Friday February 14th will be fun filled day at Oxford Beaumont Community with musical entertainment , love themed activities and a variety of delicious dishes on the menu which will be prepared by Chef and his team.
Visitors are welcome to come along at 2pm on February 14th for an hours entertainment by the very popular Bill James, followed by refreshments and home- made valentine themed cup –cakes.
Burns Evening Celebrations
A fabulous evening was had by all when we arranged an event to celebrate the life and poetry of Robert Burns. We were very privileged to have our guest Harry Gow playing the traditional bagpipes to our residents and guests in his Scottish attire. Harry explained about the tradition and the meaning behind the annual event.
Chef prepared a Scottish supper including haggis, neeps and tatties. The Selkirk Grace was said by our Independent living Ambassador as well as the toasting of the haggis. Drams of whiskey were of course part of the refreshments and some dancing took place too. The event was especially memorable to one of our Scottish residents and her family who attended the event.
We would like to thank everyone who joined us and enjoyed another successful event.
Exercise Session with Oomph
Staying fit and active is very important to the residents at Oxford Beaumont. The activity staff run regular exercise sessions to help the residents to stay fit and mobile. Currently Barchester are working with the specialist activity provider Oomph, who have been providing training and initiatives to help activity staff to facilitate engaging and appropriate fitness sessions aimed especially at the elderly.
The residents at Oxford Beaumont love the sessions and always have some fun in the process.
Happy Birthday!
Here at Oxford Beaumont we always like to make the residents feel special, but even more so on their birthdays, this week resident Annette celebrated her special day with family, residents and staff. She received lots of presents and flowers and top it off our Head Chef made a delicious birthday cake. Annette had a lovely day.
Kevin the Carrot Visited Oxford Beaumont
What a lovely surprise for all the staff and residents when we had a visit from this famous family. Kevin came to see how our Christmas preparations were coming along and introduce his family Katie, Jasper, Chantenay and baby who were more than happy to be involved in activities and spend quality time with residents and staff in our beautiful home.
They have decided they love Oxford Beaumont so much they are going to stay for a while so you can look forward to seeing all of their adventures.
Coffee Morning At Oxford Beaumont
A serene and tranquil atmosphere was felt at the Oxford Beaumont while the beautiful sound of two harps playing filled the Windrush Lounge at our December Coffee Morning.
Margaret Scruby and Rosemary Munro twin sisters who live locally performed for our residents, families and friends providing an hours entertainment.
Both sisters share their love of the Paraguayan harp and have played around Oxfordshire delighting people of all ages with their talent.
We always look forward to Margaret and Rosemary visiting, especially as this time of the year. Their music is enchanting and they are an aspiration to anyone who meets them.
