Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Frankie Sidwick
Frankie has been in care since 2011. Her career began in a nursing home, then she moved to young adults with learning difficulties, and finally went on to a home that specialised in mental health. Frankie now brings this wealth of knowledge into her activities role here at Raleigh Manor.

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home
Employee Of The Month
Our residents and staff applauded our Senior Carer, Frankie who was named ‘Employee of the Month’ for always going above and beyond in her role and being a fantastic example to others. Frankie was nominated by both residents and colleagues who felt she really deserved extra recognition for the amazing work she does every day. Frankie was congratulated by our home’s Deputy Manager for the achievement and was presented with a £25 voucher, flowers, chocolates and a bottle of bubbly as a special thank you. Christine, Deputy Manager said: “I’m delighted to have such a caring and talented individual working as part of our team and I hope this ‘Employee of the Month’ award goes some way towards showing how much Frankie’s hard work is valued. We are really proud of her can do attitude and the way she applies herself to everything so positively’ Frankie ‘Employee of the Month’ said: “I couldn’t believe I had been chosen, as to me I am simply doing the job I am so very passionate about, it just comes naturally. I have worked in care for 10 years, but I think what makes my job so enjoyable is the people I work with, our wonderful residents and the fantastic environment I have to work in every day here at Raleigh Manor, it really does make a difference. Thank you so much”
Birthday Time!!
We have a birthday weekend this weekend with a few of our residents celebrating their birthdays and as you know we'll use every excuse for a reason to party and celebrate here!! A huge happy birthday to them all, they have had great fun celebrating with our residents and staff at Raleigh Manor, they even stopped to do a bit of cake baking, just incase we ran out!! (I'm not sure that will ever happen at Raleigh Manor) Happy birthday from all of us!!
Exercises with Christine!
Our Deputy Manager, Christine is certainly whipping us into shape with a new exercise class for us all at Raleigh Manor!! With the new year upon us one of our resolutions is to keep fit, keep mobile and keep positive!! This new exercise class led by Christine has certainly got us motivated and the need for it after all the wonderful food we've been indulging in over the festivities is sure to disappear with these regular classes!! We know that regular exercise is not only good for us physically, but also amazing for our mental well-being, so we will be making this a regular class for our residents.
Life in our Home!
What a lovely day our residents at Raleigh Manor have had! Making the most of the beautiful sunshine residents took a trip on our minibus along Exmouth and Budleigh seafront, then back for a fish & chip lunch courtesy of the fabulous 'Krispies' which was just the best treat after a seaside visit, then a relax in the lounge to discuss a book our residents are enjoying listening to. January can sometimes feel a little dull after the Christmas festivities, but not at Raleigh Manor, we want to create great memories and meaningful activities for our residents to enjoy.
Frankie's 30th Birthday!
Celebrations continue at Raleigh Manor, but this time to celebrate the 30th birthday of our fabulous Senior Carer, Frankie!!! Huge happy birthday Frankie from all the staff and residents at Raleigh Manor, we hope you've enjoyed your celebrations!!!
It's Quiz Time!
What a fantastic afternoon at Raleigh Manor!!! Residents enjoyed some warm up quiz questions over lunch, then ready for the big quiz itself with over 70 of our care homes!!! Residents and staff throughly enjoyed the afternoon and whilst we didn't win, everyone thoroughly enjoyed taking part!!! Thank you Barchester for arranging such a fantastic afternoon for our residents!!
