Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Frankie Sidwick

Frankie has been in care since 2011. Her career began in a nursing home, then she moved to young adults with learning difficulties, and finally went on to a home that specialised in mental health. Frankie now brings this wealth of knowledge into her activities role here at Raleigh Manor.

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Christmas at Otter Nursery

A trip out to Otter Nursery at Christmas is an absolute must! What a perfect display of everything Christmas along with a great cafe! A wonderful time in Wonderland for certain.

Nativity Sneak Preview

A group of very lucky residents were invited for a sneak preview of the local primary school's nativity play. At this dress rehearsal, they got to meet the talented cast and watch them in action. Thank you to everyone at Brixington Primary Academy, it was a joy.

RAF Exeter Talk

Chris Wiseman from RAF Exeter was invited in to give a talk on the history of the RAF in Exeter.  The residents were very interested in the information Chris provided and had many of their own war-time stories to share with him also. A thoroughly enjoyable event for everyone involved and one we would recommend to others.

Remembrance Day Creative

With Remembrance Day, we conducted a poppy creativity session. It was a good opportunity for everyone to discuss what Remembrance Day means to them while expressing themselves creatively.

A treat for Halloween.

Local childcare group, Chunky Chowns came in to Raleigh Manor to do their Trick or Treating at the home. Behind every door they knocked, was a huge smile of a delighted resident ready with some yummy treats! And we finished off with some story telling.

What a hoot! Visit from Hawkeridge.

We were full of winged wisdom last Wednesday when the Hawkridge Birds of Prey Centre came to visit the home. Residents at Raleigh Manor were pleasantly surprised to witness a parliament of owls taking over the main lounge. Katy Smith, Activities Coordinator said “This visit has been an outstanding success. We had residents, friends, relatives and staff members all engaged and excited to be able to get up close and personal to these mystical creatures.”
