Activities at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience, and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Kirstie Cobb

Activities Lead

I joined Barchester as a carer in 2019, and quickly realised I had a passion for helping people live their best lives. In June 2022 after a move to Exmouth, I joined the team Raleigh Manor as a carer and enjoyed helping with the activities. When the role of Activities Coordinator became available, I jumped at the chance to combine my care background with my desire to truly enrich the lives of the residents in my care.

Life at Raleigh Manor Care Home

Lyme Regis Revisited

Liz left her beloved home of Lyme Regis when she moved into Raleigh Manor. She wanted so much to go back and revisit her favourite place again so we put fuel in the van, packed a lunch and set off to put a big smile on her face.

It's moments like these that make life so special.

Amazing Maize Maze

What an AMAZING day out for our residents who tackled the Maze of Maize at Darts Farm!

On a perfect summers day we took a group to enjoy Darts Farm and the Maize Maze they have. With clues to collect and a great time to be had.

A bit of fun in the sunshine and no-one got lost!

RNLI Visit an Eyeopener

Our information based outings are always a winner with our residents. The local institution of the RNLI Exmouth was no exception. We were treated to a full tour of the facilities.

What an incredible operation we can all be very proud and very grateful for.

Raleigh Manor Ready to Race

Inspired by their recent Royal Ascot racing activity, local care home Raleigh Manor decided they wanted to have their own stable of horses for future racing events.

The Men’s Shed Exmouth who are just up the road from Raleigh Manor were commissioned to create the homes new steeds. Peter from the Men’s Shed delivered the horses to the home where the residents will now be tasked to paint them.

Resident Meets Lifetime Heros

Resident, Kenneth Brookshaw, at Exmouth Care Home, Raleigh Manor has been a life long supporter of what was his local football team, Plymouth Argyle. When chatting to a staff member recently, he mentioned how much his he loved his life in Plymouth and what is local team meant to him. So, the staff at the home decided to organise a special event for Ken, getting to meet the Plymouth Argyle team in person - proving the old adage, it’s never too late.

Happy Birthday Raleigh Manor

What a wonderful celebration of our second year. Our birthday party was a huge success. We were graced with good weather, fantastic entertainment and great food. We love getting the whole family together and this was a very special day for all our residents, family, friends and staff.
