Activities at Seaview House Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.

Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Love is in the air!

To celebrate Valentine’s Day, the lunch tables were set with flowers and a card for each resident which they were delighted to receive and open. Some residents being a bit more romantic with their roses than others. Residents also enjoyed writing cards for spouses or partners. Staff even had the chance to win chocolates & flowers.

Spa Day

Residents enjoyed a full pamper Day at Seaview and said it was very relaxing, even the men having Facials. All staff got involved whether it was nails, hair or facials. Great day had by all.

NESCAFE virtual tour

We had a fabulous time joining NESCAFÉ’s virtual coffee experience.

We were able to look into how they sustainably farm their coffee beans, as well as, to have a virtual tour of one of their factories all from the comfort of our home.

To make things even more interesting, our residents had the chance to test their knowledge with an interactive quiz, and to the delight of all to taste the signature Sweet Cinnamon Shaken Iced Coffee cocktail.

Valentine's treats

We had a lovely time joining Chef Alex Connell from Vegetarian for Life for a Valentine’s-inspired virtual cookery demonstration.  Chef Alex created some delicious Valentine’s Day-inspired vegetarian desserts, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.

First, our residents sampled a wonderful sticky toffee pudding, which was absolutely heavenly. Then they tried hazelnut truffles which were a huge hit and finally they were treated to a chocolate orange cake which everyone adored.

Amazing skies

We are so lucky to waken up to this in the morning. It's just beautiful. Pity a red sky in the morning is a shepherd's warning! Hopefully some snow though. We are very lucky here at Seaview to have such beautiful coast and landscapes around us.
