Activities at Seaview House Care Home
Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are exercise classes and a walking group, regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including local concerts, as well as weekly visits from a PAT dog, and regular visits from musicians and entertainers, as well as church services which are held twice a month. We also host a weekly social event in which we encourage residents from the whole home to socialise together.
Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Seaview is fun and active.

Life at Seaview House Care Home
2nd vaccine for home
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Seaview care home, were delighted to be invited to have the 2nd vaccination at the home which has lifted everyone’s spirits after what has been a very challenging year for everyone.
General Manager, Wendy McGowan said: “Last year was a year like no other and the vaccine feels like the light at the end of the tunnel. Our teams have been magnificent in how they have risen to every challenge during this pandemic and we are proud to play our part in this next phase to ensure the most vulnerable are protected.”
General Manager performs for Residents!
During the pandemic we’ve not had the luxury of entertainers coming in to Seaview so we’ve made our own entertainment. Residents were delighted with the special performance by General Manager who played her Cello. Everyone had a great time!
Ball Games
We’ve been reinventing our activities during the pandemic so that we can all enjoy our favourite games. Today was socially distanced bowls.
Traditional Tunes
We were privileged to host our first organised entertainment for residents at Seaview House since lockdown began in March.
We were visited by the fantastic Addie Harper and Gordon Gunn, who played a selection of traditional tunes on the accordion and fiddle.
They were able to use our bespoke visiting suite, so were not in contact with anyone at Seaview.
The residents and staff were delighted with the music; they sang, clapped and tapped their feet and gave Addie and Gordon plenty of requests over the hour they were here.
Residents stay connected in Winter months
Residents are overjoyed at Seaview care home in Wick as Barchester Healthcare has implemented a visiting suite for residents to continue to spend time with their loved ones for the autumn and winter seasons in addition to the outdoor visiting that has been on offer for those able for many months.
Balancing resident wellbeing and safety is at the forefront of Barchester Healthcare’s thinking and they understand how important it is for residents and their family and friends to be able to spend time together in the safest way possible.
There has been much careful planning and preparation for this moment by Barchester Healthcare, who run Seaview care home. It was welcome news for their residents and family and friends as we enter the colder season meaning catch-ups can continue to take place, instead of, or in addition to, outdoor visiting already offered for those able.
National Tea Day
We made our own entertainment for National Tea Day. General Manager, Wendy McGowan, brought here cello in to entertain residents and then went round to rooms and played requests for residents
