Activities at Sherwood Lodge Care Home
Our Activities Coordinator is constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. We have regular outings in the mini bus to nearby places of interest including local garden centres and parks as well as musicians and entertainers. We also hold bingo evenings which are helped out by our residents families. We also have a local pub nearby which the residents enjoy visiting from time to time for a spot of lunch or sitting in the gardens in the summer time. We try our best to arrange activities that reflect their interests as best is possible. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Sherwood Lodge Care Home
Games afternoon
Life is like a game, Like snakes and ladders. Throw the dice and see the number, Up you go or down you fall. It all depends on the throw. Life is like that, It depends on your decision, It maybe right or maybe wrong.
Community coffee and cake
Residents enjoy attending the weekly coffee morning at North Preston Evangelical Church for the tasty tea and cakes and a good old natter...
It's great to get out and about and meet new people and even some of our residents have reconnected with old friends
Birthday celebrations
Yesterday staff enjoyed preparing and celebrating one of our residents birthdays. Patricia was 88 years young yesterday and celebrated her birthday surrounded by her family. She had a lovely buffet and wine party in our cafe area with those closest to her and a great celebration was had by all!
Wallace Collection
Our homes had a fantastic time joining members of the Wallace Collection for an amazing sensory session.
During the live virtual experience, our residents explored one of the museum’s most beautiful Dutch flower paintings and learnt new drawing techniques.
We cannot wait to put our creative skills to a test and produce beautiful paintings of our own.
Everyone enjoyed the lovely talk, we all had lots of fun and it’s given us plenty of ideas.
Jack brings smiles to residents
Our residents absolutely loved seeing Jacks the sheep dog this week. Jack brought so many big smiles to our residents faces and he thoroughly enjoyed getting lots of fusses and strokes and even tried to get snuggled up on their knees
Fun in the sun!
It was certainly a hot one yesterday, so residents enjoyed an array of activities inside and outside the home to suit everyone. From the Reverend Jane Wild who led our residents in the lounge in some of their favorite hymns with the finale favorite Amazing Grace. We had arts and crafts for our very own picasso's in the cafe lounge where the air conditioning was a welcomed relief and for others simply enjoy outdoor games on the patio.
