Activities at Southgate Beaumont Care Community
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Zoe Grindley
Hello My name is Zoe, I have been in the life enrichment team at Southgate Beaumont since December 2021.
I am originally from Liverpool and moved to London in 1997 after being accepted at Mountview Theatre school. After graduating I worked as an actress and accomplished voiceover artist for many years. I also have a vast amount customer service experience, working in many West End Theatres, as Cabin crew for Virgin Atlantic and at Claridges hotel in Mayfair.
Zoe has a passion for making strong connections with people and creating lasting memorable experiences.
My role here at Southgate Beaumont is to ensure our residents lives are packed full of enriching and interesting activity. We provide a wide range of both home led and community led activity for all residents as well as personalised and individual hobby and interest focused events. Our programme ranges from cocktail making, to art history talks, exercise sessions as well as fine dining dinner parties catered for by our chefs
I have made lots of lovely new friends at Southgate Beaumont care home and look forward to making many more.

Life at Southgate Beaumont Care Community
A Very Special Party
Here at Southgate Beaumont Care Home, we had a very special party to recognize people for their exceptional achievements.
The first recognition went to Lin O`Sullivan; she wrote, directed and coordinated the performance of our 'Cinderella' pantomime. She even did all costumes for the resident actors herself. This is the first time that residents at Southgate have directed and performed in their own show. It was a hard job but worth all the 3 months of preparation. It connected people - everyone was looking forward to the rehearsals and we were enjoying ourselves. Thank you, Lin, and congratulations to all for a wonderful performance.
We then recognised Lauren Holt for going above and beyond her duties. Lauren joined the home a few months ago and started as a Healthcare Assistant. She had never done this job before but said that she would like to try. Now she is one of the best carers at Southgate Beaumont. The residents like and ask for her. Well done, Lauren!
Christmas at Soutgate Beaumont
Residents at Southgate Beaumont had a wonderful Christmas this year. The staff were fantastic, serving a big Christmas lunch with even bigger smiles, despite the fact that they were probably missing out on spending time with their own families. New Years eve was another wonderful event with a lovely buffet lunch served by Joanna and her staff, once again with big smiles. It was obviously a lot of hard work.

Christmas Casino
We set up a Christmas-themed Monte Carlo casino. We like gambling because our mums said not to. Resident, Muriel, won £120,000 in chips; unfortunately, they are not accepted in shops or pubs.
Our Christmas party was amazing
We had canapés, mulled wine, mince pies, hampers, a tombola and a blind bid. Thanks to Joanna, Maria and Eva for preparing all of the delicious food. Thanks to Iva, Laura and Mark for organising this event as well.
Cinderella and her ugly sisters at Southgate Beaumont
This year our residents wrote and performed their own version on Cinderella.
Lyn wrote the panto, she casted the residents and even designed and made the costumes with some help from Mark our amazing volunteer, Iva and Laura our activity team and some of our other residents.
Our friends and family came to see the spectacle and what it show it was.
Well done everyone !!
