Activities at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
The activity team within our home spend a lot of time committing themselves to organising a range of activities for residents. This includes, pet therapy, trips out to local places of interest, visits from entertainers and musicians, bingo, one to one pamper time, weekly quizzes, coffee mornings, arts and crafts and baking. Activities are considered to be a crucial aspect of our home as residents look forward to upcoming events. As a result, it is essential that our team work together with dedication, to ensure residents are entertained and involved in as many activities as possible.
Michael Lythgoe
I have worked in the care sector for 36 years, initially working for the NHS at Brandesburton Hospital as a care assistant. When the hospital closed I transferred to Townend Court and continued as a care assistant on the forensic ward for people with a learning disability. It was whilst working with the Occupational therapists at Townend that I discovered my passion for engaging the patients in activities of their choosing, I’m quite artistic and creative so it was an easy transition
I have many years’ experience working with the older generation and those who live with dementia, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s and other diagnosis’.
I am really looking forward to bring both my experience and passion to my new role and to see the positive impact on our resident population.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Stamford Bridge Beaumont Care Home
Shopping trip
With Christmas around the corner our residents took a trip to our local craft shop to get supplies for all out Christmas crafting that is planned. The home has many activities planned throughout the coming weeks as everyone counts down to Christmas.
Autumnal crafts
Autumn has arrived our residents have created and autumn tree which is proudly displayed in the homes Memory Lane community. Everyone enjoyed this interactive arts and crafts session and shared their favourite memories of autumn from walks in the park and the sound of crunching of frozen leaves to log fires burning and being snug at home.
Halloween fun
As Halloween approached and pumpkins were everywhere we decided to get creative and combine the pumpkins and flowers to make some colourful arrangements, who knew pumpkins would make such lovely vases. They were a welcome addition to the homes decorations and everyone had a great time!
Residents enjoy Halloween cooking demo
Residents had a lovely time joining Chef Alex Connell from Vegetarian for Life for a Halloween-inspired virtual cooking demo.
Alex demonstrated how to prepare a few themed dishes, such as root vegetable tagine, roasted butternut squash mac-n-cheese, chocolate pots with piped biscuits and flapjacks.
Our residents were delighted to be a part of this lovely virtual culinary session by tasting the vegetarian dishes from the comfort of our home.
Autumnal crafts
As Autumn arrives we have been getting crafty, our residents have been busy painting leaves to add to our project.
A trip to the garden centre
We enjoyed a trip to our local Garden Centre, our residents enjoyed looking at the variety of item available, and stocking up, visit was finished off with Lunch in the Café.

Come along and join our Dementia Café on the last Thursday of each month.

We warmly welcome you to join us on the last Tuesday of the month for our Carer's Cafe and meet other members of the community over a selection of beverages and tasty snacks.
