"I love living in Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home. The staff are so friendly and helpful in every way. The place is just like living in a five-star hotel, I could not have wished for a better place to spend my remaining years than here It would be a job to find fault in any way and my wife and I love living here. The admin staff go out of their way to help overcome any problems. The meals are adequate and if you want more you only have to ask. The place is a perfect place to retire to."

"“Wow” sums up my first impression and experiences of Sycamore Grove Care Home, it is the first and only care we viewed for our 91-year-old mother and to be honest did not need to see anymore! 5-star hotel comes to mind. Everything has been carefully thought out with the residents in mind, including a spa bathroom, cinema room, lovely lounge, activity areas, big garden, lovely bedrooms with en-suite wet rooms and hairdressing /nail bar, cosy social dining rooms. All the staff are amazing and very professional in their varied roles especially the manager and home service advisor, activities lady, who have all gone above and beyond in answering any questions and reassuring us as this is all new to the family. Mum went for 2 weeks of respite and has since become a resident after living independently for many years and all the staff have treated her with dignity and respect, she is happy every day and she has made a best friend also 91. Chef/food is 5-star amazing!"

"My 90-year-old mother is staying for a few weeks of respite care. In her own words “They can’t do enough for me, everyone is so friendly”. It's spotless with great facilities and the attractive decor feels homely. I have seen Mum's demeanour change to become brighter and more engaged with the wealth of personalised activities on offer. The welcome when we arrived was outstanding, there was attention to detail in settling her into her room. The food is wonderful and we celebrated her birthday with a delicious family meal and the chef made a special cake for her. As family visitors we are made welcome, it’s a lovely family atmosphere where she is being well cared for while retaining her dignity, making new friends and having fun. The staff have been professional, patient and reassuring in answering our numerous questions. Thank you."

"Everyone at Sycamore Grove was helpful and friendly from our first viewing, Mum went for 2 weeks of respite, her first stay in a home. She was well cared for and with slight dementia has come home with better faculties, and coordination and enjoyed numerous activities including painting, singing, Ascot and pizza making. She has eaten more than usual including a more varied diet which benefits her too. We all hope she will return for another stay soon."

"To be faced with a huge change in life at any time is daunting, even more so when you are elderly, confused and trying to come to terms with the prospect of leaving your home and all the memories that have been made over the years. Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home has been everything it has promised to be. To see my ma-in-law settled, so happy, relaxed and actually enjoying herself is amazing and a new lease of time for her. She feels safe and well cared for by the fabulous friendly staff. As a family who love her deeply, this means so much to us. Well done everyone and a huge thank you!"

"I cannot praise Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home highly enough. My mother stayed for 10 days respite care while I was on holiday abroad. The care was exemplary and all the staff extremely kind and friendly. The chef created menus tailored to her dietary needs which were delicious and beautifully presented. The environment is like a 5 star hotel, newly opened in April this year so still stunning. Interior designed, luxurious and graceful. The manager is fantastic. There’s a hairdresser on site, a spa Bath and activities every day run by a staff member who went the extra mile every day. Thank you so much."

"This must be the best care home in the UK. Nothing was too much trouble for all members of staff and everyone was treated with great kindness and dignity. No task was ever too much for the most caring staff, regardless of their position, be they managers, carers or domestic staff. I was extremely happy there and would certainly return if I need further respite care at Sycamore Grove Care Home and would recommend it to anyone who needs to be cared for temporarily or full-time. An excellently run facility, impossible to find any faults."

"My mother who is 100 years old moved into Sycamore Grove today. The manager, assistant manager and all staff made her feel so welcome. They all put Mum at ease on what could have been a very stressful day. The chef spent a lot of time with her to find out her food likes and dislikes. The housekeeper made sure all her clothes were labelled and fresh to wear. The handyman put up pictures on the walls to make her room home from home. The activities coordinator spent a lot of time chatting with her to assess her preferences. The care staff were extremely friendly and efficient. Overall, without a doubt, this is the best care home my mother has experienced."

"It's always a pleasure to visit my mum. The staff/carers are friendly and knowledgeable and any health issues have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. The general atmosphere is cheerful and there are plenty of activities to keep the residents amused. Having had lunch there, I can recommend the quality of the food - a very good chef! My only criticism is that the bistro area, although like everywhere is beautifully furnished, there are not enough tables and chairs - the sofas could go."

"This is a marvellous place. It is beautifully furnished and equipped and the staff are all so very warm, friendly and helpful. One of the best things about it is the range of activities you provide for the residents - my mum loved bread making, the magician, tea parties, the card evenings, Christmas Fayre, theatre and shopping trips, arts and crafts to name just a few. We love the fabulous bistro/ coffee lounge where residents, relatives and guests can meet, enjoy delicious homemade cakes and fresh coffee together. It’s more like a first-class hotel than a care home, except you also provide a very well-trained and willing staff who are always on hand to support and care for everyone’s every need. I can’t recommend you highly enough. For us, your place is simply the best in Eastbourne."

"As a full-time care for my wife, I had to undergo major surgery and picked your care home to look after her. I could not have made a better choice to know she was looked after so well by the staff, was a huge weight off my mind. Will not hesitate to use your company again."

"Excellent, five-star care at Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home. My stay for respite care began 17th-24th May 2024. I tried, in my mind, to find fault but I could not find one issue to contend with. A welcoming and helpful receptionist, then the bistro, a communal space, with coffee and tea facilities, fresh fruit and also, an activities centre. All the care staff are attentive and truly care for elderly residents. A big tick for management - the peace and quiet throughout the night. No slamming of fire doors and flashing lights every two hours, distressing the residents. A carer sits throughout the night, listens at doors and offers a cup of tea if residents are awake. Well done everybody. So I do recommend Sycamore Grove to others. Not forgotten - thank you chef and your helpful staff."

"My mum has only been at Sycamore Grove for two weeks but already can see how happy she is and has settled very quickly. I am quite overwhelmed by how amazing everyone has been with my mum and am so happy that she has moved there. All the staff are so lovely and as a family, it's so reassuring to see her happy."

"Mum stayed for respite care following a hip replacement in March. Whilst looking for somewhere suitable, my main criteria was somewhere she didn't want to leave. Once I had visited Barchester Sycamore Grove Care Home, there was no debate at all. Sycamore Grove ticked all my boxes and more (I had a fair few!) Her room and facilities were wonderful. She was looked after incredibly well by all the staff. She loved engaging in conversation with them all, as did they, and having a few laughs together. And playing April Fool's tricks! The food was lovely. Well varied, with good choices and beautifully presented. The whole team engage with the residents. It is more a five-star hotel than a care home. The daily activities are amazing. This is so important for the well-being of the residents. Mum and I often chat about her time spent there. She has already booked (in her mind) her next stay for when she has the other hip done. Who knew that requiring respite could be so much fun? Thank you to all the staff involved in Mum's stay with you."
