Activities at Tyspane Care Home
Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.
Jacqui Conroy
Jacqui and her team devise and plan fun group activities and events for all our residents, including pamper days, gentle exercise classes and music therapies. Regular one to one sessions and smaller groups are tailored to residents specific needs and hobbies with gardening and crafts amongst the most popular.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

In the Mood for Dancing
Residents enjoyed our music and singalong morning and individual time with the care team.
'60s Week
Residents at Tyspane enjoyed a week of groovy activities including music, dance and reminiscence.
Planting Fruit
Residents have been getting out on to the terrace and planting up strawberries in our new wheelchair-friendly raised beds. Everyone, including the staff (and the birds), are now eagerly awaiting the first ripe strawberry.
Games Club
Games club and, in particular, Scrabble is officially a hit! So much so that the activities team have had to buy a new board game and residents are asking to play on a daily basis.
Pet Therapy
Residents enjoyed a visit from pet therapy dog, Gozo, and his owner Paul. It was a little bit of an emotional reunion for some, as they hadn’t seen Gozo for over a year!
Royal Ascot
Residents enjoyed a Royal Ascot-themed ladies day at Tyspane with hat decorating. Tea on the terrace and an afternoon of watching the races live on the television.
