Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

My name is Lee and I am the Head of Lifestyle here at Westergate House.
I support our residents daily to do the things they enjoy and it is extremely important to me that we are offering a premium and person centred service to each resident. I support our residents on a daily basis by providing meaningful and quality activities either in groups or on a 1:1 basis, to help encourage and build confidence while creating an enjoyable environment for everyone. Westergate House is the home of our residents, we as staff are working in it, so it is extremely important to me that we are respectful of that, while offering a premium and person centred service to each and every resident.
I am a trained actor and professional vocalist and not shy in making a fool of myself. If I do that every day to put a smile on our residents faces then I’m happy I have played my part, along with the rest of the amazing team, to brightening their day. If you hear someone singing along the corridor or see them dancing in the lounges, it will probably be me.

Westergate - Thank You's
Kay visited Tangmere Make Ready Centre today with hampers of goodies to express thanks and gratitude from everyone at Westergate House. We are in awe of the hard work the ambulance crews have managed in recent months and it was lovely to say thank you.
Welcome Back!
Our doors are open! After a long few months, Westergate House is able to welcome relatives to visit their loved ones within our home again. Yesterday we were thrilled to welcome Sam across the threshold as our first visitor. Sam was looking forward to seeing her grandmother and said it was so wonderful to be visiting once again.
Goodies from Westergate House to West Sussex Dementia Day Centre
It was a sunny afternoon in Bognor last Thursday when Kay, our Activities Co-ordinator at Westergate House, met with Leo May, Day Opportunity Coordinator, at Chestnuts, the West Sussex Dementia Day Centre. The meeting followed several conversations between the two local organisations during recent months. Kay and Leo are looking at ways for people living with dementia to have improved life experiences and to enjoy their local community in a range of interesting, fun and safe ways. The connection will benefit the residents at Westergate House and the people supported by West Sussex County Council. Kay and Leo are looking at community-focused events for the future that will provide opportunities for interaction and activity.
National Caregiver's Day.
A time to celebrate! We treated our staff at Westergate House to hampers of goodies to celebrate National Caregivers Day. After a busy few months, it was time to enjoy some treats.
Hamper delivery to Sage House
Our local dementia communities connected last week when Westergate House sent a hamper of treats to Sage House. We continue to build relationships with local dementia services to benefit our residents and others in the local area.
Wine Tasting at Westergate
A relaxing afternoon was enjoyed by the residents at Westergate House Thursday last week. A spot of wine-tasting was a welcomed activity on National Wine Tasting Day. Our residents had a chat about the different wines which were accompanied by a lovely cheeseboard. Cheers!
