Activities at Westvale House Care Home

We have been very busy showing our creative sides as we prepared to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a very special crafts session, our artwork and bunting were proudly displayed throughout the home

Residents took advantage of the dry weather to enjoy a mini bus trip to Hayrack Church Farm. We enjoyed feeding the animals and also getting a cuddle with some of the smaller ones, before a refreshing cup of tea and slice of cake in the café.

As we celebrated and recognised all Father’s on Father’s Day we enjoyed a live performance from popular vocalist, Lainey who kept everyone entertained as she sung a medley of hits which had us all singing along too!

Our homes had a fantastic time joining National Trust Talks Service team at Cliveden House for an inspirational talk on Nancy Astor – the first woman to take a seat in the House of Commons.

Our residents had the opportunity to learn more about the fascinating life of Nancy and her political career. As the first women MP, she experienced both attention and scandal throughout her life, which led to many triumphs and numerous disasters.  The talk was truly enjoyed by all.

Happy Carers Week! We would like to take this great opportunity to recognise and thank our wonderful carers here at the home.

We are proud of each and every one of our care team for the outstanding care that they provide to our residents every single day. They always go above and beyond their role and for this we are truly grateful.

Staff and residents at Westvale House in old hall Warrington invited family, friends and local community groups to join them to celebrate the Big Jubilee with a tea party on Friday the 3rd June.

General Manager Charlotte Sherrocks said: “We’ve all had such a brilliant time celebrating the Big Jubilee tea party, it has been such fun.  Our staff and residents love the Queen and so they were all so excited to take part.  It has been a real collaborative process - thinking about how we wanted to celebrate, planning our activities and decorating the home.  It was so lovely to be able to invite our friends and family to come and join us for a proper celebration too.”
