Activities at Wheatlands Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Activities and Events Partnerships

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Life at Wheatlands Care Home

Sunflower Saxes

Residents at Wheatlands enjoyed a live performance from the Sunflower Saxes in celebration of Father’s Day.

International Nurses' Day

Residents enjoyed making cards for our doctor's surgery in Much Wenlock. This year, more than ever, we are hugely indebted to all our care staff, and we are incredibly proud to applaud their extraordinary efforts and commitment on this special day of recognition.

International Nurses’ Day is a day to give thanks for the dedication of care givers everywhere, who go above and beyond the call of duty to deliver extraordinary care and support.

National Tea Day

Residents enjoyed celebrating National Tea Day with a special themed Mad Hatters Tea Party. Families joined in virtually, which was lovely. There was homemade scones with fresh cream, fairy cakes, sandwiches, tea and prosecco. The afternoon was spent playing croquet, cards and doing arts and crafts.

Happy Hair

There were happy scenes, as hairdressers were finally allowed back into the home.

Just like the rest of the country, residents had been waiting patiently for months to get their hair styled, and so they were delighted to be able to book in for a long overdue cut and blow dry.

Minibus Trip

We all enjoyed a drive round the countryside to celebrate the Queen’s birthday. We stopped for cream tea and scones and enjoyed the beautiful views.

Around the World

We went around the world to Las Vegas; we had a great day of singing, dancing, quizzes, music, and we even went to the casino!
