Activities at Winchester House Care Home

Our activities team are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest, including the local priory and garden centres, as well as visits from musicians, a wide range of entertainers. We are lucky enough to have a enthusiastic team of volunteers who regularly visit the home throughout the week, and our yearly pantomime is a real crowd-pleaser and is well-attended by residents, relatives and members of staff. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Winchester House is fun and active.

Christmas at Winchester

Christmas at Winchester

Christmas was a magical time here at Winchester House, with the Aladdin pantomime by Tickled Pink Productions, visits from Wouldham All Saints School and church choirs. We had a very special Christmas Day, exchanging gifts and tucking into a delicious turkey dinner from our super catering team. A wonderful time was had by all!

Care Home Open Day

What a fantastic day we all had at Winchester House on Care Home Open Day. Residents, friends, loved ones and staff members came together for a lavish garden party in our community garden to celebrate the wonderful relationship that we have with our local community.

We were joined by special guest, Mayor Roger Dalton, Rev’d Mike Hayes, the local Over 60’s club and many of our wonderful volunteers! We were also joined by the children from Wouldham All Saints School, who last year helped create the community garden.

The Women’s Institute came along to present us with the twiddle mitts that they having been making for us recently.

Entertainment was provided by Peter B, who got everyone up singing and dancing.

The catering team pulled out all the stops with fabulous afternoon cream teas in vintage tea sets. Pimm’s and elderflower cordial were free flowing and all washed down with some well-received ice cream cones.

A truly wonderful afternoon was had by all!
