Our staff are what hold the home together. Each one of these team members are dedicated to providing high quality care and services to those we support, and ensuring that residents enjoy all aspects of life at our home. See below to meet some of our friendly faces:
Emma Saunders
Welcome to our website. My aim is to ensure residents, staff, families and visitors all feel they are in a caring, welcoming environment and being supported by every member of our team.
I began my career as a Home Administrator then progressed to Commercial manager within Woodhorn Park and have gained experience and qualifications to progress to my current role. Barchester has a high standard of care and superior lifestyle delivered throughout the company, and I endeavour to deliver those same values in our home. I always enjoy spending time with residents and their families, and am always available for a chat about our home, staff, services and most importantly, our residents.

Will Rowles
Hi, My Name is Will and I am the Deputy Manager here at Woodhorn Park. I started working at Woodhorn Park in July 2024 and I love it here. I have worked in the care sector for 3 years.
The management and staff here work really well together and it means this is a brilliant home to work in. I am now privileged to be part of the management team, where we strive to make sure that each resident feels at home and that each family knows their loved one is being looked after by truly caring professionals.
Emma Davison
I joined Barchester Healthcare in June 2008 as a Care Assistant. I thoroughly enjoyed looking after the Residents and spending time chatting to them and doing daily activities.
I later gained my NVQ’s and BTech Level 2 in Dementia Care 2009, I completed my medication course and was promoted to Senior Carer. In January 2022 I gained another promotion this time to Team Leader. With this newly promoted role, I gained a lot of knowledge on Care Planning and other daily activities that helps me look after the Residents on a daily basis. I continue to love my job and enjoy any training that helps with my continued development that enhances the delivery of great Quality of Care to our Residents within the Home.
Tracey Tait
Hi, my name is Tracey and I am the Home Administrator here at Woodhorn Park, transferring from our sister home Station Court in November 2024. I joined Barchester in 2014 and throughly enjoy the administrator role.
Despite working in the office, I still love to find the time to chat with the residents and their families and helps out whenever I can.
Bob Clark
Hello, my name is Bob and I am the Head of Maintenance at Woodhorn Park – a post that I have held since 2006.
I have achieved qualifications in plumbing, electrical systems, painting & decorating and joinery, in addition to a Barchester NVQ qualification.
In my spare time, I am a Class 2 Chef in the Army Reserves, so when I am not at work, you can find me cooking up a meal in the middle of a field for a small army of hungry people
Cheryl Thompson
My name is Cheryl and I am the Head Housekeeper here at Woodhorn Park – and I have enjoyed my role since 2012.
I take great pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout our home. I strive to maintain Individual resident abilities and support those who wish to continue to take an active part in household duties, such as setting the tables, dusting and putting their laundry away. I want their home to be a ‘home from home’ and I am very proud to be a part of their daily lives.
Laura Lord
Hello my name is Laura I joined Barchester Healthcare in December 2021. I have a passion for delivering excellent person centred care. I also enjoy chatting with residents and assisting them while doing daily activities.
I have worked in the care sector for 25 years starting as a care assistant then progressing to Senior Care in 2022. I have gained my NVQ 2 & 3, I have also completed my medication programme. While working the past year as a senior care assistant I have completed my Senior Care programme which I really enjoyed advancing my care knowledge to ensure that I give the residents the best care we can.
In September 2023 I have taken the role of Dementia champion within Woodhorn Park, I have completed extensive training so that I can share this with the teams to ensure all our residents lives are enriched with positive person centred care.
I continue to love my job at Woodhorn Park and looking forward to any training that will help my continued development and that will enhance the Quality of Care to our residents within the home.
Megan Donnelly
Hello my name is Megan. I have a passion for delivering excellent person centred care. I also enjoy chatting with residents getting to know them and their preferences which enables me to deliver excellent care.
I have worked in the care sector for 8 years starting as a care assistant doing home care before joining Barchester Healthcare in 2017. I joined the NHS for a period of time to develop my knowledge in care giving. I became a Senior Care Assistant in July 2022. I have completed my medication programme and completed my Senior Care programme which I really enjoyed advancing my care knowledge to ensure that I give the residents the best care we can.
I continue to love my job at Woodhorn Park and jumped at the chance to return when I did as my passion is to give personalised care to all our residents whether they are here on respite or permanent residents. I look forward to any training that will help my continued development and that will enhance the Quality of Care to our residents within the home.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my partner and my two sausage dogs Milo and Toby.
Gillian Dent
Hello my name is Gillian and I am the Hairdresser in both Chester Court and Woodhorn Park. I have over 40 years’ experience in hairdressing. I began to work in Chester Court in 2014 and more recently in 2021 joined the team at Woodhorn Park.
My role is to provide a full range of hairdressing services to all residents whenever they wish to visit the salon. I genuinely believe that having your hair done not only makes you look better but also makes you feel better, can be incredibly relaxing and contributes to a general feeling of wellbeing. It is so important that our residents whether they are permanent or respite have access to this service and I thoroughly enjoy spending time with them.
