"My mother-in-law has been at Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home for thirteen years and is very happy there. The staff are friendly and happy as is the manager and administrator and always happy to answer any questions. The home is spotlessly clean and there're always activities going on for the residents."

"During the lockdown period, the staff of this care home have been excellent in contacting me and keeping me updated with photos and a lovely card with my husband's photo on it. The visit today has been very rewarding for us to see him in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere in the lovely garden."

"Excellent care. Pleasant willing staff. My mother is well cared for in clean pleasant surroundings. A good choice of well prepared food is provided on a daily basis. There is a good choice of activities for my mother to participate in if she wishes. Any appointments for hospitals etc are taken care of at no extra cost."

"Being in this care home has made a huge difference to mams life. She now has a smile on her face and likes having the company around her. She has the hairdresser each week and has taken pride in her appearance. Her overall personality has greatly improved as she had lost some of her social skills and is enjoying life once more."

"My uncle stayed over Christmas and New Year as he was lonely at home after the death of his wife. I must say this transformed him into a new man and was much happier in himself and this is all due to care and management."

"My mother became a resident in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home after a stay in the hospital and she realised she could no longer manage at home even with 4 carer visits per day. She needed someone to be there 24 hours a day. She is so happy as she can be - she is eating better and she gets on well with just about everyone who works there. She has told me the carers are all 'lovely'. It is less worrying for the family. If my mother is unwell, we receive a call and the GP is contacted. Overall, my mother and the rest of the family are happy with the care she is receiving and we would recommend Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home to others."

"My husband is only 58 with rapid Alzheimers. I looked around probably 20 homes in my local area - I live 8 miles away (there are a lot of others closer) but as soon as I walked into here I got a happy, relaxed feeling and knew this was the right place. Since he arrived, the staff have been outstanding and made both him and myself feel relaxed. I couldn't have asked for any better - the staff have gone above and beyond to help him settle in. I have told everyone about this home. Thanks."

"My father has been in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home for three weeks respite. He has been treated with respect and dignity, always full of praise for the staff. When the family have been visiting, they are always offered a drink. Very clean, cheerful and respected."

"My mum has only been in Woodhorn Park for 6 weeks. What a brilliant place. All the staff are so caring and helpful. All my mum's needs are quickly identified and addressed. She was registered quickly with doctors and a dentist, assessed for Parkinson's and the falls clinic was contacted for an assessment. She has a bed sensor now. Nothing is too much trouble for the team of dedicated staff. They are always aware and all information is passed on. It's a longer travel than the last care home but what an improvement. I am glad my mum is somewhere she is being well looked after and cared for properly. Such a relief to find a suitable care home. I can't thank the staff enough, they are brilliant."

"The staff at Woodhorn Park have made my mothers stay an easy transition from hospital to the care home. I have found all the staff very approachable, friendly and caring but also very professional in the job they are doing. I have never had any worries or concerns whilst my mother has been here as I know she is safe and well looked after. I would have no hesitation in recommending Woodhorn Park Care Home to others."

"My Mother has been a resident at Woodhorn Park Care Home, Ashington since Sept 21 2018. My brother and I visited nine homes in our area, and there was only one we unanimously agreed would be a good fit for our Mother: Woodhorn Park. I visit three times a week and I watch and I listen. I’m incredibly impressed with the quality of care. Their dementia expertise, kindness and respectfulness are a pleasure to observe. Meals are prepared fresh by a chef - not processed/microwaved. The home is typically immaculate and well-maintained. There’s even a hair salon. There are lots of activities too including holiday celebrations (Remembrance Day window displays prepared by a member of staff, were a real tribute to residents), musicians, arts and crafts, sing-a-longs, and tea dances. Any (minor) issues are addressed through our wonderful care manager. If you are looking at care homes, I recommend you do your research - then come to Woodhorn Park to see the difference."

"My Dad has been a resident at Woodhorn Park since February 2019. I have nothing but praise for this lovely, caring and supportive home. My Dad has stayed in several homes for respite over the last few years, including some very costly ones, but this home knocks the socks off all of them all. The main difference is the staff, they really do care! They got to know and understand my Dad very quickly. They know what he likes and what he doesn’t and will always try to accommodate him. He loves them and knows he can ask for help or even a chat at any time. We regularly hear or observe the staff helping other residents when they are unaware we are there, they show nothing but respect and kindness to everyone. The care, guidance and support they have offered my Mam and I has been exceptional and we are truly grateful to them. The home is very clean, in fact always being cleaned when I visit. The food is all freshly cooked from fresh ingredients and always plentiful. Overall a great home."

"Many thanks to all the wonderful caring staff at Woodhorn Park who are going above and beyond to look after my Mam (and all the residents) at this difficult time. "As a family, we could not be more pleased with the care my dad receives here, he has been in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home since last year and settled in straight away with the help from the staff and senior management with a dementia care plan in place. All the staff are very attentive, caring and involve my dad as well as all the other residents on a daily basis doing different activities and fun days. All our family are kept informed on how my dad is doing and make us feel welcome every time we visit, nothing seems to be too much trouble. Every time you go in everyone in the home is smiling, happy, clean and having fun, it's lovely to see especially to see my dad so happy, we would highly recommend Barchester Woodhorn park care home."

"The staff couldn't do enough for my dad. All the staff including management have all gone out of their way to make sure my dad's needs were met. There was an issue with my dad with another resident and was dealt with promptly. Couldn't thank them enough for everything they did to resolve the situation. Barchester should be over the moon to have staff like these."

"The staff is second to none, nothing is a problem or a bother. I never thought I would need my mum to live in a residential setting but my goodness she is in the best home ever. She loves the staff and the staff love her. The regular activities are fun and engaging for both residents and families."

"Our father has been in the care home for over a year now after initially trying it for two weeks of respite previously. As his health diminishes, it's fair to say that he has been a bit of a challenge for everyone, but you have to give credit to the manager and her team for the patience they have displayed throughout. My brother and I can rest knowing that he is in very safe hands getting looked after in every way. The communication from the home is excellent, and we are always advised if there is any issue to attend to which we appreciate. Thank you."
