"The home itself is bright, fresh and looks welcoming. The staff are very helpful and friendly. They are taking good care of my dad putting in measures to let them know when he is on the move (fall risk, no dementia) as he is reluctant to use his call button. The food seems varied and balanced."

"As a family, we could not be more pleased with the care my dad receives here, he has been in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home since last year and settled in straight away with the help from the staff and senior management with a dementia care plan in place. All the staff are very attentive, caring and involve my dad as well as all the other residents on a daily basis doing different activities and fun days. All our family are kept informed on how my dad is doing and make us feel welcome every time we visit, nothing seems to be too much trouble. Every time you go in everyone in the home is smiling, happy, clean and having fun, it's lovely to see especially to see my dad so happy, we would highly recommend Barchester Woodhorn park care home."

"The home is not in the best of repair. Some areas are damp. My relative is not always cleaned properly and often has other people's clothes on, even though they are labeled. Standards have slipped from when we first had to come to the home."

"My mam has been in Woodhorn Park for three years. Our family are very satisfied with the care and support that Mam receives. The staff are very approachable and understanding of the care Mam needs. Having a debilitating disease, Mam needs 24-hour care. We have faith and confidence in the care Woodhorn Park provides."

"The care home has been fantastic with our mother. Anything she needs or wants, they do; they have also rung myself if my father hasn't turned up to visit Mam (Dad is in poor health). They have also taken time to ask about my own health as it's a very stressful time with both parents."

"My parents moved into Woodhorn Park in November last year and I can’t praise the home enough. From the manager to all the care staff and support staff have gone above and beyond to assist my parents to settle into their new home and care for them. My parents are happy which makes me very happy. I just want to say a very big thank you to you all."

"My mum spent a week at Woodhorn Park before Christmas to allow me to have a break. I was worried as she had never been in a care home before. However I need not have worried, the home was outstanding. She loved every minute of it. The staff were amazing and made her feel very welcome. There were lots of activities to join in with and she loved the ‘ banter’ with the staff and other residents. She was very happy there which was a relief for me and has asked when will she be going again. I can only highly recommend Woodhorn Park."

"The staff couldn't do enough for my dad. All the staff including management have all gone out of their way to make sure my dad's needs were met. There was an issue with my dad with another resident and was dealt with promptly. Couldn't thank them enough for everything they did to resolve the situation. Barchester should be over the moon to have staff like these."

"The home is bright, clean and very well decorated and designed for comfortable living. The staff are excellent they have an excellent understanding of my mothers needs and demonstrate their affection for her. The staff are happy and very attentive to my mother. They are welcoming and reassuring to the family. We feel so fortunate to have her in such a lovely home where she is catered for with such genuine care and affection."

"The staff are very caring and professional. The needs and wellbeing of the residents are their priority. Knowing our loved ones are treated with dignity, respect and love mean so much to us. The care shown during Covid has been exceptional. Communications is always good. Our aunt loved living at Woodhorn Park."

"My mother, who will be 97 in January has been in the home for 9 years. Although getting on in years, she is always cheerful when we visit. The staff at the home are very caring and could not do enough for you. The new covid designated visitor suite is very comfortable, under the circumstances, but it does allow us to see our loved ones. Hopefully, things will get back to normal in 2021."

"The accommodation (room respite) was a high standard. Staff very caring, approachable, and friendly. Cleanliness of the unit was very good. Meals were excellent, always a choice. Could not give anything negative about Woodhorn Park, everything is positive."

"My mum recently had a six week respite stay at Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home. This enabled Mum to recover from a long hospital stay in a safe, friendly, comfortable environment. When you first walk into the home, it has a lovely atmosphere, the residents look happy, the staff are helpful and friendly. The home is extremely clean, well-furnished and nothing is too much trouble should you need anything. I would like to thank the manager and all the staff at Woodhorn for taking such good care of my mum."

"Our father has been in the care home for over a year now after initially trying it for two weeks of respite previously. As his health diminishes, it's fair to say that he has been a bit of a challenge for everyone, but you have to give credit to the manager and her team for the patience they have displayed throughout. My brother and I can rest knowing that he is in very safe hands getting looked after in every way. The communication from the home is excellent, and we are always advised if there is any issue to attend to which we appreciate. Thank you."

"My aunt moved to the home and has thrived since moving in she has gained weight and looks amazing. She joins in all activities, the staff are great and management are always on hand and they are very friendly and welcoming to the home. "I was extremely concerned about my mam settling in a care home however she has settled in well in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home and says she feels safe and cared for. She has complex needs so this is a big thing for her and me! The staff are lovely, the manager is extremely caring and empathetic. I'm sure this is why she has settled in so well. Her room is bright, airy and spacious. She has sight problems but can get around just fine. She's sometimes a picky eater but her choices are accommodated by the catering team so she's eating well which is great to know. The atmosphere in Woodhorn Park is positive and happy. From the first time I went into Woodhorn Park, I had very positive vibes and it's still the case now Mam is settled there."

"My dad came in October 2023 as a respite resident for a week, and we couldn’t get him to leave. He was a shell of a man until coming to Woodhorn, now he is back to the Dad and Grandad we all know and love. We can’t thank all the staff enough from the housekeepers to the kitchen staff, the carers and the office staff."

"Team are so helpful. Mum is thriving in this home, and is always cheerful, and that is all down to the attitude of all the team, who are a credit to the general manager. Can't praise them enough. The home and Mum's room are always clean and tidy, and Mum is always immaculately groomed. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff and I would always recommend this home to anyone looking for somewhere to put a relative."

"Since our dad came to Woodhorn Park, we believe that they have saved his life. We have found the home to be welcoming, a nice relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. The staff are welcoming and friendly. They all interact with my dad, and he loves living here. Nothing is too much bother for them. The staff engage and listen to all patients and relatives and relay all information to family. Dad enjoys his meals, saying that the food is 'top-notch' and enjoys taking part in the activities in the home."

"Staff are always welcoming when entering the home. Happy to give updates and feedback for Mum. Mum has taken time to settle in but only to be expected with her dementia. She has good days and bad but the staff are always on hand to diffuse a situation and take her mind off being in a care home."

"My husband is only 58 with rapid Alzheimers. I looked around probably 20 homes in my local area - I live 8 miles away (there are a lot of others closer) but as soon as I walked into here I got a happy, relaxed feeling and knew this was the right place. Since he arrived, the staff have been outstanding and made both him and myself feel relaxed. I couldn't have asked for any better - the staff have gone above and beyond to help him settle in. I have told everyone about this home. Thanks."

"My mother became a resident in Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home after a stay in the hospital and she realised she could no longer manage at home even with 4 carer visits per day. She needed someone to be there 24 hours a day. She is so happy as she can be - she is eating better and she gets on well with just about everyone who works there. She has told me the carers are all 'lovely'. It is less worrying for the family. If my mother is unwell, we receive a call and the GP is contacted. Overall, my mother and the rest of the family are happy with the care she is receiving and we would recommend Barchester Woodhorn Park Care Home to others."

"My mum has only been in Woodhorn Park for 6 weeks. What a brilliant place. All the staff are so caring and helpful. All my mum's needs are quickly identified and addressed. She was registered quickly with doctors and a dentist, assessed for Parkinson's and the falls clinic was contacted for an assessment. She has a bed sensor now. Nothing is too much trouble for the team of dedicated staff. They are always aware and all information is passed on. It's a longer travel than the last care home but what an improvement. I am glad my mum is somewhere she is being well looked after and cared for properly. Such a relief to find a suitable care home. I can't thank the staff enough, they are brilliant."
