Activities at Worplesdon View Care Home

Activities at Worplesdon View

The activities team at Worplesdon View organise and run activities and events for large groups, small groups and individual residents. We include relatives, volunteers and the remaining staff whenever possible and encourage choice and participation from everyone we support. Our programme is planned in advance and is is designed provide tailored, meaningful activities for residents to participate in that will stimulate all senses, whist encouraging mental and physical well-being. We have an activity plan for all residents, and of course, this changes with the needs of each person to keep it up-to-date and useful. Worplesdon View is a fun and dynamic place to live and work, and the secret to this is that everyone is encouraged to see activities as part of their role in the home so that residents are happy and always have something to do.

The Wind in the Willows

We had a lovely afternoon on Tuesday at West Horsley Place watching The Wind in the Willows, thank you so much to team who made us feel so welcome! We will definitely be back! And don't we all look smashing in our sun hats?!

Barbara Elson Memorial Day

We've had the most wonderful day in memory of our dear friend, Barbara Elson. Daniel Brewerton gave us a wonderful show and the Mill Cottage Farm Experience made the whole event absolutely magical, we're all besotted with their gorgeous animals!

Thank you everyone (especially Barbara's daughter Caroline!) Barbara would have loved it!

Lest We Forget Concert

We had an amazing morning yesterday with Victoria, Linda, Jackie and Carol from Lest We Forget. We cannot overemphasise what amazing musicians these women are, they held us utterly spellbound. We're already looking forward to next time! Thank you so much!

Birthday Bubbles!

Happy Birthday, Betty! What a party! Complete with pink bubbles, cherry cake and Raz's best birthday dance moves! You mean the world to us, Betty! And it was a pleasure to help you celebrate your special day!

A day at the races!

Aaannnddd we're off!

We had great fun joining teams to compete against each other with some very dashing race horses! However, Team One in particular would like a rematch! We also realised some of our residents are very lucky when it comes to rolling sixes! Trip to Vegas anyone?

Thanks to Send Village Club - Send Social & ExServicemens for the loan! We're eager to have the horses back again!

Chris and Julie’s Joint (almost) Birthday!

Sometimes you get the opportunity to do something really special for your residents, and Julie and Chris's (almost) joint birthday was just that!

We planned (with some help from Chris) a lovely, family garden party with a birthday tea fit for a king (thanks to our amazing catering team!). And it wouldn't be a birthday party without a cake, chocolate was voted the firm favourite, we're just sorry the wind blew the candles out before you could! Julie still got the pose down though!

Happy Birthday Julie and Chris, and thank you to your family and everyone who made this joyful afternoon possible, we hope you had the best time!
