Activities at Adlington Manor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Lynne Bowler

Activities Coordinator

I joined the activities team at Adlington Manor in May 2017. Previously, I have worked as a tree surgeon and have had heavy involvement with the Guides and Brownies. I love participating in activities with residents, whether that's by driving the minibus on trips outside the home, or by engaging in themed days.

I am passionate about my role and especially the challenge of coming up with new ways to engage as many residents as possible in our activities here.

Disney Day

Disney Day

A great time was had reminiscing about our favourite Disney films. Many residents remember taking their children to see Dumbo, Snow White & Mary Poppins! We watched a few Disney classics, had a sing song & finished off with a Mad Hatter tea party.

St George's Day

We had medieval reenactment company, traditional archery & a medieval banquet for this year’s St George's Day celebrations. The residents & staff had a great time!

The Bucket List Begins

The Bucket List Begins

Adventurous resident, Jack, loves motorbikes & used to own one in his younger days. He said that he wanted to have a go again, and we delivered!

Echoes at Adlington

Echoes at Adlington

Echo the owl joined us for a fantastic visit, and even ventured into some residents' rooms to say hello. He was a gentle fellow and everyone enjoyed giving him a stroke. He brought out lots of smiles!

Red Nose Day

For Comic Relief, staff dressed in red & we had a duck race with a little glass of something nice to celebrate the Cheltenham Gold Cup. We then did a themed quiz that got our brains ticking, but fun was had by all.

Sunflower Competition

Sunflower Competition

We started our sunflower competition in March. Each resident got to pot a sunflower seed, and we'll be watching them grow to see whose gets the biggest.
