Activities at Arbour Court Care Home

Our specialist activities staff are committed to organising a variety of activities and events for all residents and the local community to get involved in, including trips out to local places of interest in our minibus, visits from entertainers and musicians and small group and individual activities in quiet yet stimulating environments. It is important to us that each individual who we support can get as much from these as possible, so we try our best to arrange activities that reflect resident individual interests as best as possible, and encourage them to participate in any way they can. We also encourage relatives to join with activities and events as often as they can.

Life at Arbour Court Care Home

Summer Fête

This year at our Summer Fête, we had singer Shaun Sloan singing for us, as well as a live reptile show performed by Animal Intuition, and an amazing dog show.

This year, we managed to raise over £800 for our residents' funds, and we are grateful to everyone that helped us on the day.

This is one of our residents enjoying the live entertainment.

Story Time

Alice is our beauty therapist's daughter and, during school holidays, she came in to read for our residents. Her visits went down a treat and she received lots of great feedback!

Armchair Exercise

Armchair Exercise

Katie came back to see us and hosted one of her famous armchair exercise classes. This particular resident didn’t want to sit down; once he heard Elvis Presley’s 'Hound Dog', he was off! This is him dancing with Dannii, one of our carers, to ‘Love Me Tender’.

Our Divisional Winners , Our Divisional Winners

Our Divisional Winners

Well done to Rueben Lesende and Kelly Tatton, who were named as Divisional Winners in the 'Carer of the Year' category and 'Learner of the Year' category, respectively, for the 2019 Barchester Care Awards.

Animal Intuition Returns

Animal Intuition Returns

Residents really loved when Animal Intuition came to visit us again. This resident, as you can see, enjoyed it more than most; she is never scared or shy to hold any of the animal,  and gets stuck right in.
