Activities at Ashcombe House Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

I’m a fun, loud and outgoing individual who loves organising fun activities for residents at Ashcombe House (and staff, if possible). I’m very creative and keep the residents very active, both mentally and physically In my spare time, I love doing a lot of fundraising, which usually ends up with me sliding in mud.

Activities and Events Partnerships
As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Ashcombe House Care Home
National Fish and Chips Day
To celebrate National Fish and Chips day, we headed out to the best fish and chips restaurant in Hampshire, Oliver's, with a number of residents! Everyone had a great afternoon as they chose what they wanted from the menu. One resident said: ''It bought back many wonderful memories of the family meals they had shared their.'' We will definitely be visiting again!
Baking Club - Pizza Day!
We have regular baking clubs here at Ashcombe House. At our more recent one everyone was very keen to make pizza's so that is exactly what we did! As you can see from the photos we are quite talented pizza makers!
An afternoon of cheese, biscuits and Pimms!
The great weather recently has meant we have spent a lot of time in the garden and on this particular afternoon we thought the best way to spend it would be to have lots of cheese, biscuits, and Pimms!
The First Day of Summer
On Thursday 21st June, a few residents enjoyed the garden and sunshine, as we celebrated the longest day of the year and the welcomed in summer. We had freshly whipped cream and strawberries, along with some Buck's Fizz and wine to toast the start of summer.
Carers Week
On Friday 15th, in order to appreciate and celebrate Carers Week, the activities team organised an outdoor buffet and drinks for all Carers at Ashcombe.
Lunch in the Park
We took some residents out for a nice picnic at Eastrop Park on 5th June. Everyone had a great time!
