Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Jo & Julie
Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home
Carers Week
For Carers Week, the carers and staff from Awel-Y-Mor loved sweetie day and an afternoon of fruit and a chocolate fountain, which tasted yummy!
Beach Party
The staff and residents from Awel-Y-Mor enjoyed our beach-themed party. The sun decided not to shine outside, but there was a lot of sunshine inside! Residents dressed up in their brightest T-shirts and enjoyed their cocktails and BBQ whilst listening to happy holiday music.
National Biscuit Day
After celebrating British Sandwich Week last week, we then celebrated National Biscuit Day. The pounds are piling on!
The Butterfly Effect
With the lovely weather that we have been having, the residents enjoyed the painting activity out in the garden. They painted butterflies to hang out in the sensory garden.
The Amazing Sandwiches
Residents and staff enjoyed a variety of sandwiches during British Sandwich Week.
National Tea Day
Residents of Awel-Y-Mor had a lovely day celebrating National Tea Day and the Queen’s birthday with a choice of tea and biscuits. The turmeric, coconut and vanilla teas were very popular!
