Activities at Beaufort Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Lucy Lock

Activities Coordinator

Hello, I am Lucy and I have worked at Beaufort Grange since 2015, starting as a care assistant I have progressed to senior care assistant and now into my role as an Activities Assistant. It's always a pleasure to keep the residents updated with community activities. What I enjoy about my job is making everyone laugh and keeping residents and staff entertained. You will often hear me singing as I walk down the corridor!

Alive Allotments Experience

Beaufort Grange residents were invited to the  Alive Activities allotment in Brentry and we had a such an enjoyable afternoon. Thank you so much to this wonderful charity whose volunteers spent time with the residents showing them around, making insect houses and chatting while relaxing in the sun. Alive allotments have been designed to give therapeutic and social benefits to those living with dementia. Gardening has such a positive impact on the physical and mental well-being of us all.

Volunteer of the Year

We are proud to announce that Jackie Cranmer has been crowned Volunteer of the Year for the Cental Division in this year’s Barchester Care Awards and is through to the national round of judging.  More than 3,900 nominations were received from all Barchester homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and Jackie is over the moon to have been named the winner for the division, beating hundreds of other nominees.

Our divisional winner Jackie is through to the national finals in which the overall winner is decided. Jackie will join winners from across the UK at a special awards event in October to celebrate their outstanding achievements and discover if they have won a national award.

Huge congratulations, well deserved!

Residents Enjoy Harp Experience

Beaufort Grange were delighted to welcome back harpist Lizzy Bennie. Lizzy not only performs for the residents, she also brings along miniature harps for residents to have a go at playing. The harp is such a beautiful instrument to listen to and with Lizzy's lovely singing it was such an enjoyable afternoon.

Bunny and Bloom Visit Beaufort Grange

Beaufort Grange residents had a wonderful day with a visit from the adorable rabbits and guinea pigs from Bunny and Bloom!   The joy on our residents' faces was priceless as they enjoyed cuddling and stroking these furry little friends. The rabbits and guinea pigs were incredibly well-behaved and content, making the experience even more delightful for everyone involved.  The therapeutic benefits of animal interactions are truly remarkable, there really were smiles all round.
