Activities at Bedewell Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Donna Brooks
My Name is Donna. I am the activities co-ordinator at Bedewell Grange.
I joined Bedewell Grange in April 2022 and I bring lots of new exciting ideas to the role, having worked in the health and social care sector for the last 15 years. I am passionate about my role within the home and aim to bring a smile to all our residents faces through different types of activities.
I'm bright and bubbly, so aim to share this each day at work. I have experience in supporting our residents who are more able as well as doing sensory Namaste sessions with our residents who are less able.
As I get to know the residents likes and dislikes, if you would like to come and chat with me about your family member please pop in and see me.

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies

Move It or Lose It!
What better way to start the week than with some gentle exercises and, of course, a great laugh.
October Open Day
What a great party we had on Saturday 20th October. It was our open day and also we were celebrating having our lovely chicken for a year now, so HenPower came along, as well as some of our fantastic artists, who we have been working with over the past year to create so many amazing things.
We all had a great time with lots of food, poetry readings, live entertainment and, of course, the odd little tipple or two.
Party time at Bedewell Grange!
We had another great party evening at Bedewell Grange recently, with live entertainment from one of our favourite performers that got everyone singing and dancing. This was followed by a delicious traditional pie and pea supper.
Open Day Decorations
Residents and staff have been preparing for our Open Day on Saturday 20th October by creating decorations for the day!
Please feel free to pop along between 1pm and 4pm, where there will be live entertainment and fantastic food preapred by our Head Chef.
Hebburn Lakes Primary School
We had a wonderful creative afternoon at the home recently with children from Hebburn Lakes Primary School. Everyone enjoyed helping one another with our arts and crafts session, and the residents thoroughly enjoyed connecting with the children. We also introduced the children to our resident hens! We can't wait until our next session.
Tea Time
We hosted our weekly tea afternoon in the garden. Feel free to join us every Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. – we would love to see you!

If you are part of the Emergency Services or Community District Nurses, we extend a very warm welcome for you to join us - Every Tuesday from 7.30 am - 10.00 am.
