Activities at Bedewell Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Donna Brooks
My Name is Donna. I am the activities co-ordinator at Bedewell Grange.
I joined Bedewell Grange in April 2022 and I bring lots of new exciting ideas to the role, having worked in the health and social care sector for the last 15 years. I am passionate about my role within the home and aim to bring a smile to all our residents faces through different types of activities.
I'm bright and bubbly, so aim to share this each day at work. I have experience in supporting our residents who are more able as well as doing sensory Namaste sessions with our residents who are less able.
As I get to know the residents likes and dislikes, if you would like to come and chat with me about your family member please pop in and see me.

Life at Bedewell Grange Care Home
The Royal Wedding
What a fantastic time we have had at Bedewell Grange getting ready for the royal wedding. We made our very own button hole for the big day and all enjoyed watching the ceremony on TV. Tears were a plenty when we all seen Megan arrive and the dress was beautiful. Later, we had our very own buffet and wedding cake. It was a great day!
National Gardening Week
Families and children from Family Gateway Services came along to help residents with the planting of our summer flowers, and the kids made some wonderful things to hang from our trees and put in our flower beds. Later, we all enjoyed a picnic in the garden after all our hard work.
Seize the Clay
We had another great pottery class with local artist, Lyndsey. So far, we have made bird feeders, bird baths and, most recently, we made tiles.
A Day in the Sunshine
Some residents enjoyed spending time in the elusive British sunshine, which has left them eagerly anticipating the summer.
Employee of the Month - March
Congratulations to Care Assistant, Ebony Golightly, who was named as March's Employee of the Month here at Bedewell Grange.
Ebony was presented with here vouchers and some flowers by Deputy Manager, Theresa Chapman.
She is always very pleasant with everyone and has a lot of empathy for residents. She is always ready to listen to them and fully engage in any activity. She’s also stepped up to pick up additional shifts to cover for colleagues on sick/holiday leave.
Well done, Ebony!
Bedewell Buddies
Meet our 3 Bedewell Buddies: Maureen, Doris & Peg. These ladies buddy up with less able residents to support and help them to continue enjoying activities in our home. Peg has come from the world of business, Maureen is a former nurse and homemaker and Doris was also a homemaker who loved crafting. These ladies are always keen to participate in most activities and assist the Activities Coordinator.
